If it used to work, and now suddenly it doesn't, likely the condenser microphone inside the phone is bad or has built up a static charge. If it used to work and you now here a buzz or humming sound instead of voice, you will need to discharge the microphone by disassembling the phone and shorting the two wires that go to the microphone (with the telephone unplugged!). I'm assuming you are referring to intercom calls and therefore the programming for handsfree outside line calls (memory block 4-29) doesn't have any bearing. If it used to work and the above procedure doesn't fix it, the phone is probably bad.

When my MIC/HFAI button is lit (green) - I can hear people that intercom to me - but they cannot hear me unless I pick up the handset. How do I fix this?

Turn up the volume on your speaker phone. You also have to push a button to turn your intercom speaker on.

This prevents somebody from listening in on your office conversations without your knowledge. Consult your phone manual.

People say they can't hear me on th t7208

If there is another phone that this doesn't happen on, try changing your handset with that one. If this doesn't fix the problem it most likely is your telephone.

Hi, one of our Call Center workers cannot hear the ringing phone when she has the headset onWhat's your problem?

The ring from the telephone is picked up by the internal microphone on the HL10 Handset Lifter, typically for most phones, the lifter sits directly over the speaker grill on the telephone where the sound comes out. For telephones that curve out on the left side and don't have a straight edge, there is an accessory called a "Ring Detector" which is used. Here's a link:

HL10 Nortel Adapter Kit - 46780-01

If the internal mic on the lifter has gone out, you can plug the ring detector into the handset lifter and just stick the ring detector over the speaker grill to pick up the ring. Plugging this into the lifter will bypass the internal mic, this accessory would have come with your HL10 lifter. You can also check the ring volume on the telephone, and you can also try adjusting the ring tone on the phone (sometimes it will pick up one ring tone better than another). Here is a link below if you need to order a new ring detector:

Calling party cannot here receiving party

This can be one of a couple of things. First of all, if this is a multi-handset phone, go off hook on two handsets at the same time and see if you can hear yourself in both phones (Speak into one while listening to the other) If it is only a single handset phone, do the same thing only with another phone. If you cannot hear anything coming from the uniden phone, it may have a bad mic in the handset and would need to be replaced. (the handset not the mic) If you bought it less then a year ago and still have the receipt, call uniden at 18002971023 and they will help you get it replaced.

Sometimes my corded phone screeches when I am using it. It happens if I move my hand over it and will quit when i move my hand from it.

What you hear is called acoustic feedback, the same thing when you get close to loudspeaker with mic. It is normal. The sound from headphone bounces of you hand where is picked up by mic, amplified and emitted back by headphone. A pitch would depend on how far is your hand from the receiver.

People can't hear me!

The people cant hear you because inside your handset there will be one mic ... i think that mic is in loose contact or it is damaged ...
may be the mic is not touching the circuit board ...

so if you are good at opening the handset then just it and check for the mis contact near the mic ...
if the mic is damaged then just replace it with the new one ...
if you are not good at opening then just visit the technician ...
he will do it ...

if you are doing yourself then if you are replacing the mic with the new one then you must buy the mic which is compatible to your handset ...
and one more thing for your information the new mic is available at very cheap rate it is not at all costly ...
if you are visiting the technician he may charge the service charge ...

any doubts reply me ...
i am always here to assist you
thank you
bye ...
