Hi,

You should be just fine with the existing BIOS. It should not affect anything with setting this up as a home PC.

I hope this helps clarify your problem,

Eric

Computer will not boot. Beep error code is 2-2-3. Problem? Motherboard is micro star MS-9121 in an ibm intellistation

Hello the download site is here:

http://www.msi.com/product/server/E7505-Master-L-Series.html#/?div=Driver&os=XP%2032

Here you find the manual:

http://www.msi.com/product/server/E7505-Master-L-Series.html#/?div=Manual

Please select your windows system.
And unzip the file before you can use it:

A 1-2-2-3 beep code pattern means that there has been a BIOS ROM checksum error. Literally, this would indicate an issue with the BIOS chip on the motherboard. Since replacing a BIOS chip is often not possible, this Phoenix BIOS issue is usually corrected by replacing the entire motherboard.

More codes here:

Good luck

Hi,

Your not going to be able to update the BIOS without having XP installed on the computer.
I had the same problem myself as a motherboard i had would not update with Win 7 installed.
If you have a spare hard drive and an XP install disk then i recommend installing XP on that and then download the exe BIOS update file and run it from within Windows to update the BIOS.
After that just turn the PC off, put back your Win 7 hard drive and your good to go.

Regards.

Gateway series 300 with 4000783 moBo, no visual

Gateway are most likely wrong. These Gateway cp's usually have a motherboard failure which stops the cpu socket working, replacing the motherboard is a far cheaper option than buying a new pc, restore windows using my rstore disk which uses your registered version of XP. You could put the hdd in a dell computer, set the jumper omn the back to secondary master or slave of either the primary master ( C:\) or the secondary master. Then copy the files you wnt to an external source or the dell pc.
