Lexmark X6690 Wireless All-In-One printer does not print

Even after a clean installation, the printer does not print any jobs sent to it. It does not show any error message. I have tried it with Wi-Fi and USB cable with same results.

There maybe some issues with your firewall also. Try printing while your firewall is off, if it prints, problem solved. If it doesn't call Lexmark Tech Support..

If the power light is "pulsing" (blinking slowly), it's possible the printer is in sleep mode. Unplug the printer from the outlet and disconnect the power supply from the printer. Reconnect the power supply, plug the printer back in, and try again.

I am also be curious to know if you are able to make copies. This would at least assure you that the printer is functional. Are you are attempting to print from the computer where you installed the software? Sorry if this is really obvious to you--to some people it's not, especially over a network. All of the computers you're trying to print from need to have the right driver installed on them.

When it is installed on your wireless network, can you see it from a computer? Are you able to ping it? Does the printer make any noise at all? Do you have a firewall on the computer you're trying to print from that might not be allowing some of the processes to function normally?

Something else to try is 1) uninstall all of the software from the computer and 2) reset the printer to factory defaults. You can do that like this:

1. Turn off the printer. Make sure it is off and not in Power Saver mode (press and hold the power button for 2 seconds).
2. Press and hold the green circle button and the red x button at the same time, then press the power button and turn the printer on (while you're still holding he circle and the x buttons).

With no software installed and the printer back to factory defaults, try installation with the USB again. It's possible that it saved some weird setting that is confusing it.

If it won't even make copies, though, call the Lexmark help number. It could just be a bad unit if it does nothing at all.

Printing error message The printhead appears to be missing, not detected, incorrectly installed or incompatible.

Here is how I would approach this.

1. Open the cover and look at the print head. Are the cartridges installed properly and locked into place? You may wish to re-install them to make sure.

2.Inspect the print head to see if any cables appear to be pulled away or damaged.

3. Unplug the printer, and let it sit for about 30 seconds, and then apply power and turn it on. Let it run through it's initialization and then see if it provides any error codes. You may also wish to try printing a test page to generate an error code.

Good Luck,

Wi-fi does not turn printer on

If you are referring to the printer not waking up when sent a print job then check the sleep settings as on many HP products you can set what type of jobs will wakeup the printer, such as USB or network. As you do not state the model I cannnot be more specific.

Uninstall the printer and reinstall it using the new driver. After removing the old driver and installing the new one, scan your computer with RadarSync so that you will know which drivers need some updating.

Have not got manual for the lexmark interpret s405, so do not understanding controls. Also the printer keeps printing cannot stop it?

You can access the User's Guide from your computer. Just click on Start > All Programs > Lexmark > View User's Guide.

If your printer keeps on printing the same document, there might be a lot of print jobs in your queue. You might have sent the same print jobs when you were getting the communication error. Just click on Start > Printers and Faxes > Double click on the Lexmark icon and clear the print jobs in the queue.

If you're frequently experiencing problems communicating with your Lexmark printer, if your printer is connected to your network, make sure that it's getting a good signal from the router. You might also want to update the firmware of your printer. Just go to to download the firmware update.

It will not print my document, but will print test pages, from the internet and from other programs. It gives me a message that I need to install my printer (which I did again) but it says there is none...

1. Have we made sure the printer cable is connected to the computer? The cable is sold separately from the printer, generally speaking it is a USB cable. (In most cases this cable needs to be plugged in to the computer and the printer needs to be powered on when running the printer installation software)

2. Of the printer is a Wi-Fi printer you will first need to make sure that you join the printer to the same Wi-Fi network that your computer is joined to.

3. Sometimes even if you have a Wi-Fi printer the manufacturer will require you to connect the printer to the computer just the first time, it gathers information about this Wi-Fi network from the computer and then passes the information to the printer.

4. I have also noticed that in some cases steps all or some of steps 1-3 need to be completed for internet printing to work.

I have a Lexmark X6690 and bought new Lexmark print cartridges today - Black and Colour. The printer is recognising the colour cartridge but not the black one. Driving me nuts!! Please help x

Try to reseat the black cartridge. If that doesn't help, try to clean the cartridge nozzles. On the printer operator panel > press Setup button > Maintenance > Clean Cartridges > Ok. Your printer will then print a page, forcing ink through the nozzles to clean them. Try to print again. You may also try to insert a different known working black cartridge to determine if the other is faulty. If your new cartridge is faulty, return it to the purchase store (if within return period) or contact Lexmark technical support for assistance.

Lexmark E 250 dn printer. Keeps turning off. Switching from blue bulb indicator to exclamation point indiator. Difficult to turn back on by pressing blue arrow button

The problem could be several things, the first one could be a Flushing buffer error. That means that the printer did not understand the print job sent to it and has to be reset in order to continue printing. Second could be a memory full error where the print job sent to the printer is too big and the printer memory is not enough. The third could be the printer front door is not closing properly, make sure the toner cartridge is installed correctly and that the front door is closed. That's all I can think of right now.
