Your mixture is too rich. Go to http://www.reddyparts.com which has assistance with setting the fuel balance or get a new control valve from them.

Check your fuel lines and most models have a fuel filter in line. A few things come to mind one how old is the fuel? Check the screen in the nozzle assembly by removing nozzle it sits directly behind the nozzle, these corrode and affect fuel flow. While you have this tore down clean the fire-eye with windex and terry cloth rag, it may not be seeing the flame. Check the air filter at the back of the heater as well. These are common problems with these heaters.

My 30,000 btu Blue Flame gas wall heater wont stay lit, pilot light stays lit but the blue flame went out and had smell of gas I shut off the gas supply but, dont know what is the problem thanks, marty

you could have a overdraft problem causing your flame to go out. check your draft setting at the burner and make sure it's not open too wide. If it is, simply close it it slowly and make sure that the flame remains totally blue.

I have a 150,000 BTU NATURAL GAS HEATER. IT WILL RUN FOR 10 SECONDS AND QUITS. IT WILL NOT IGNITE AGAIN UNLESS YOU SHUT IT OFF AND RESTART

Hi,
The heater is not proving the flame...and shutting down on safety...
Check the flame sensor and all connections of the ground from the burner to the ignition control...
The control may also be bad...
for additional help with Dayton units go to www.grainger.com

150,000 BTU propane Reddy Heater shuts off after ignition

Is there a frost line on your LP tank, if so you may need to replace the tank with a larger tank or refill your tank. This can happen if the tank your using is too low or too small (use 100 lb tank or greater). If there is no frost line it may be an issue with the thermocouple. The manufacturer offers a service manual and owner's manuals on there site. This should assist you... www.desatech.com Thank you

Will not fire with cover attached

Bend brackit on photo eye so that it gets a better view of the flame. When cover is on the flame will move farther to the end of the heater. You can test this by holding the eye in your hand and pointing it at the flame. I had the same problem. Hope this helps.

Pilot light flame is mostly yellow. LP gas

Hi,
Thr thing you need to do is take the pilot assembly all apart and blow the dust and dirt out of it.
After burning for many, many hours the air that is move up through the pilot assembly leaves dust and dirt which plugs off a bit of the air and makes the flame run rich. Meaning that it does not get enough air mixed in for complete combustion.
When you clean it you will see the dirt and dust com out of it.
Reassemble carefully just as you took it apart and it will be back to working great again!!

I hope that this will help you to solve your problem!

Thanks for using Fixya!!
