SOURCE: jvc hd ila model hd 52g886 red light blinking, and wont turn on

Hi, don`t know if you`ll be able to find this but D9405 a surface mount diode on the main power supply board is a known issue for yours and many other models, it has to be re-soldered not replaced, other joints in area may also need to be "touched up", other than that I had one where connector CN310 was not seated correctly, one side of plug was cocked way up, other than those 2 you may have a bad ballast (board that the lamp is connected to), Be sure that the lamp door is securely closed as they have a switch built into them and if the switch is not closed the set WILL NOT start, hope this helps you out, BMW Rider

SOURCE: Both the blue power light

I had a similar problem with my 42 in Philips LCD HDTV.

Here was the problem. My Power Supply Board had several bad capacitors. I opened my TV (warranty was expired of course) and found four bulged capacitors on the PSB. Many major electronics companies Philips/Magnavox, Sony, Panasonic, and others were sold capacitors that failed in 2-5 years instead of 10-20. The capacitors fail prematurely due to a lack of preservatives. Unfortunately, they were installed in all sorts of devices and cause a wide range of failure problems.

Here are some options for you.

1. Have it fixed by a professional $$$$$$$??????? (Is it under warranty?)

Remember, TVs CONTAIN HIGH VOLTAGE AND CAN KILL YOU! Do this at your own risk.

2. Open your TV and find PSB. (The board that the power cord plugs into) Check for faulty caps. If you find some (bulged or leaking) bad caps replace the entire board. The entire board costs around $250 right now because they are in high demand right now. They can be found online. I would definitely shop around though.

3. Remove and then replace individual faulty caps. This takes some soldering skill.

Caps are inexpensive and if you can take care of it yourself it will save you hundreds.

This may be your problem. If you determine that it might be.

I have a Tip/How TO tutorial on this site that may also help. It gives step by step instructions for replacing caps on PSB #715t2432-2. If this is your board you are in luck. Here is the Link: Fixing the Philips Turns/shuts off on its own problem. I

JVC HD-56FN97 when turned on blue light is solid, red ligt blinks a few times and goes out. My picture is very dark despite adjustments I make in the menu, any help or feed back apreciated.

The set does use a lamp for a light source and average life is 2 years or 2000 hours---many lamps before they actually fail get to be darker.

Hey Buldawg,

According to information provided by the manufacturer, if the TV does not turn on and the Power LED and Lamp/Program LED lights are blinking alternately, this is a sign that an internal fan may have locked up.

Often when internal fans cease to function, any drastic rise in a TV's internal temperature may trigger an emergency power shut-off. This may be done to not only prevent any further damage to the TV's internal components, but can also potentially be a sign of more serious electrical problems.

At this time you may wish to contact your local repair facility for further assistance. Remember that Best Buy™ technicians are able to repair most products we sell, so you may always contact our toll-free hotline to arrange in-home service if you would prefer to not work directly with the manufacturer itself or a third-party repair facility. Our hotline is simply 888-Best-Buy (1-888-237-8289), and if we don't have a technician in your area, we would be more than happy to locate a manufacturer-authorized repair facility for you that is able to perform any necessary repairs.

Hope this helps you out.

Sincerely,
Aaron
