Question about Sub-Zero 695/O Side by Side Refrigerator

Sub zero fridge

The rubber lining inside the door is warm to the touch. I don't remember this being the case before. Is there a problem we should be concerned about? We also can't locate the manual- can we get a replacement?  Thanks.

Sub-Zero 695s. The rubber lining inside the fridge door is warm to the touch. This has only started happening recently, but it doesn’t happen all the time. Otherwise, operationally, the fridge and freezer both appear to be working fine.

A previous response said that I need to clean the condenser or that the condenser fan has broken. The documentation supplied with the product gives no help on cleaning/accessing the condenser. I’m familiar with this procedure on more “normal” fridges, but can anybody guide me on this Sub-Zero model, which, of course, has the “guts” on the top, versus below. How do I get in there? Do I need to pull the fridge out from its enclosure or can I get full access from the front?

You need to clean the condesor or the condensor fan has gone out. Call the factory at 800-222-7820 and they will send a new manual and instruct on proper cleaning of coils.

My sub zero has condensation forming inside the refrigerator

Hi - Did you take the vegetable drawers out to see if there is ice in back? If so, you might have a problem with the refrigerator seal. Defrost the ice and then check the seal of the fridge! If you don't have ice behind the drawers, still check to see if the seal is good. When you close the fridge door, it should be very hard to open if you try to re-open it quickly.

Why is my sub zero fridge model 590 warming up?

Hi fridges will warm up on the outside as they remove heat from the inside. excessive heat with not extreme cooling inside the fridge indicates a possible degridation of coolant fluid or a leak. as the motor tries to cool the fridge the thermostat inside stays on as the tempreture inside has not been reached. if you hear the motor/ pump continually running this will indicate a cooling problem.

What is causing my sub zero moled 590 , made in feb 93 to gradually warm up?

yeah vacuuming behind the fridge is a good start this will help the fridge preform better as when dust builds up on the condenser it will cause the discharge to be hotter than it should be making the cooling in the case not as efficient. i would start by removing the pannel in the fridge and seeing if any ice is on the evaporator

I HAVE A 685 MODEL, THE RUBBER SEAL ON THE INSIDE OF THE DOOR HAS BROKEN IN SEVERAL PLACES. THE SUB-ZERO WAS PURCHASED 3 YEARS AGO. HOWEVER, MY CONTACT WITH THE COMPANY TO REPAIR IT UNDER WARRANT IS...

You should find another dealer to solve your problem. Locate the Find Authorized Sub-Zero and Wolf Service, Repair & Parts heading on the right hand side and type in your zip code for a list of businesses. If unable to find an authorized repairer, an independent will likely be able to do the work easily enough. If under warranty however, you will have to pay the independent - and having them do the work may void the warranty. Something to ask about.

A broken, missing or leaky seal will allow cool / cold air out of the fridge - and warm air in. The fridge's compressor will run more often, wasting electricity and shortening the life of the appliance. You should get it replaced sooner than later.

Please rate this reply if it was helpful - good luck!

Fridge not cold and sealing rubbers warm

Because you notice the warm rubber this time causes me to think that possibly the compressor condenser fan is defective and the compressor is over heating, is someone there that can do some electrical testing for me, The heat around door is normal if cooling but when not cooling is an indication your compressor is overheating, Sea Breeze

the condenser fan should come on the same time as the compressor.

the compressor run on and off as fridge reaches set temp.
so as the fan, but if the fan can not start by itself, it may just need a good lubrication.

tnx 4 using fixya,

Sub-zero Refrigerator Door

song to me door gasket was not properly installed, We using electric steamers to make rubber softer and good sticking. Right after door seal was replaced. Also, it could be that: a bottom door hinge parts broken /little white plastic cams damaged/,or, fridge not leveled or too heavy load on door shelfs.
