If i am on the right track, the thermal fuse in our Frigidaire Affinity dryer is bad. Model number is faqe7011kwo. where is the thermal fuse located and can i get 1 at a local hardware store (Lowes

You cannot purchase this item at any home store as it is only available thru the distributors of appliance repair components. Your best opportunity would be to purchase it from www.appliancepartspros.com . You can also see where it is located on your specific model by looking it up on the parts breakdown exploded view (normally on the blower outlet). If you can't figure out how to maneuver thru the diagrams, that would be a sign that you should contact a qualified service company to complete the repairs for you. Otherwise, you will have no trouble with the repairs if the troubleshooting was done properly.

It should look like this one or a little bit bigger / different shape...
Show this picture to someone at lowes or home depot and they should be able to show you where it is...

My thermal fuse has blown on my maytag dryer model#6800AWW. How do you release the cover to get to it

http://www.do-it-yourself-washing-machine-and-dryer-repair-help.com/thermal-fuse-Maytag-dryer.html Hello there, this will help you with disassembly.

Your dryer has two thermal fuses. One is located on the heater box (that contains the heater elements), and the other is on the blower wheel cover.
Right now I'm positing a link of a parts diagram for your dryer. On both links I'll tell you which number the thermal fuse is.

http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=47833&diagram_id=28471886#d28471886 Part number 10.

http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=47833&diagram_id=28471885#d28471885 Part number 11 on the heater box.

To test these fuses, you can buy an inexpensive continuity tester at lowes or home depot. They're really cheap if you get one that just tests for continuity. When you locate the thermal fuse, you will remove one of the wires and put both clamps or test leads on the fuse's terminals. You should have continuity. If it does, that means that electricity can flow through freely and the fuse is still okay. I would check both.

I hope that helps you out. I will be more than happy to help you if you need any further assistance.
My name is Mike, hope your dryer is up and running soon.

Congrats on doing the job yourself. :)

My dryer no longer puts out heat.

Your heating coil is broken. You can replace it easily. Take your model number to Home Depot or Lowes either of them will carry it. Just a couple of screws to take it out....really easy.

Hi this is Erik, my problem is that my dryer wont heat up it works but it doesnt heat up throws cold air

Your/The heating element needs to be replaced. You can repair it yourself...copy serial number and model type down and order element. Sears, Lowes, and Home Depot carry appliance parts for many names. You will have to order it. Relatively simple job...30-60 min job.

I have a dryer that runs but no heat. I removed the thermal fuse and hooked up a cont. Checker no sound. Is the fuse bad? Can I get a replacement at home depot or Lowes?

the fuses are usually found at an appliance parts store. You can google "whirlpool dryer parts" and find a parts store near you or one you can order from over the internet. I have replaced many of those, and they cost between 20.00 and 30.00 dollars.

Electric dryer will not heat. Just bought off of craigs list

Chances are thermal protection switch has been tripped.
If you cannot trouble shoot electrical circuits you will need a repairman. Also good be heating element but doubt it.
Switch runs $20.00 to $45.00. Labor you can go to home depot Or lowes & replace dryer cheaper usually.
Hope who you bought from did not know it was broken. :-(

Whirlpool Gold Electric Dryer.

Hope your sitting down. There is not just heating elements in the dryer there are thermal switches that turn heating elements off & on like your house thermostat clicks off & on. Also there are overheating thermal switches to keep the elements from setting the dryer, clothes on fire. More than likely you overheating thermal switch has tripped, from lent in vent or pinched vent tube or normal failure. Some of these switches can be reset, others replaced. If you can not trouble shoot electrical circuits leave it to repairman. Switch $20.00 to $42.00 Labor service call cheaper to buy cheap new dryer. Could be heating element but most use only one with different inputs for heat. If your getting some heat not likely element.
