Where can I buy JVC SP-FSY1?

We have lost the speakers for a JVC Compact Component System CA-FSY1. Where can we buy them (SP-FSY1) or find out what other speakers we might use?

Open it up and check for internal fuses, if any in there, test with a wire, bulb and battery. The values (voltage and amperage) will be on the fuses or next to the fuse holders. Also look for any obvious burnt components like diodes( small bleck tripods) and capacitors(coloured "tubes" with a wire at each end) and resisters(like capacitors but with coloured stripes on). Obviously it will be cost dependent.
And most important UNPLUG BEFORE OPENING and be cautious as capacitors may be small but they can hold a very high voltage for a long time.

Generally speaking, an amp protects itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'naked'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

hi,
Is there is power in your system. is there is any power indication.if not then you have to check the Powre transformer, its fuse, and the small standby transformer near the power transformer. If the stanby transformer is faulty then there will no power indication in your system.

If there is power and the cd is not reading then, You have to check the laser pickup unit inside your system. First of all purchase a laser cleaning cd and insert the same in to your system. If will clean the laser pickup unit to some extent. if then also it is not reading any cd then the laser pickup is faulty. As it has a changer mechanisum it will be difficult to you to replace the lase pickup unit.Because you have to remove so many parts from the mechanisum to reach to the laser pickup unit. If so try to consult some one experienced in it.

Hi, I have JVC CA FSY! and it has static noise on speakers but its ok on headphone. How can I solve this problem?

http://books.jvc.com/booklist.asp?Model=fsy1

Choose your submodel.

So the good news is that the amp isn't implicated but an electrical conductor somewhere in the path may be flaky.

Headphone insertion mechanically disconnects output to the speakers. Hence, headphone removal relies on spring-loaded contacts to restore the output to the speakers. Perhaps there is oxidation on the normally-closed contacs. Repeated headphone insertion/removal MAY help wear it off.

Also try swapping the speakers (wire and all) to see if the static follows or stays with the amp channel.
