Theres a possibility that you need to manually create a network inside the Y410 itself, you can ask for assistance from your ISP

How to use wi fi in lenovo Y410

For your laptop if it has a built in wireless card like most do now all you have to do is go into your networks connections and select "connect to a network" or if you see in the middle part of the window "wireless connections are available" click that link choose the connection, put the password in if needed and then you should be connected and ready to go. If you want to do it on a home internet connection then you'll need a wireless router i suggest netgear or linksys they aren't too exspensive and work pretty well. They come with all the things you'll need with instructions on how to setup the wireless network.

Lenovo 3000 Y410 Wifi Problem

That is odd, I've never seen anything like that. I asked a few of the other top experts, and they've never heard of anything like that happening either. There are no adjustments for this type of thing. It could be too strong. How far away from your house can you get with the machine still seeing the wireless? I hate to say it, but you may just have to live with it, and, honestly, I think it's more their problem than yours. I'll look around some more on this, since you've got me curious, and if I find anything I'lllet you know.
