SOURCE: I have just bought this

Hi there,

I have the mentioned all the possible ways to get this issue resolved.

First Lets try changing the Wireless password and user name,In most of the cases this works.

1) Open a new web page delete whatever you see in the address bar(press F4 and press delete).

2) Type in 192.168.2.1 and press enter button on your keyboard.

3) Then comes the Router Configuration Page.

4) If it is asking for Password,do nothing just click submit.

5) Towards your left on the page you will see Wireless. Under that you would also see a sub Heading Channel and SSID.

6) To edit the wireless settings click on Wireless tab in the setup page. You can edit the Wireless network name and wireless channel.
Wireless name (SSID) is the name of your wireless network. The most recommended wireless channel is 6. You can use wireless channel 1 and 11 too.

Now change The SSID,delete the current SSID and give it a new name.

7)To enable wireless security on click on security under wireless tab. And follow the Picture below.

I am trying to get wif on my samsung galaxy it tells me get guest password can you help

You would need to refer to your Belkin's instruction manual for how to set up WiFi on it. The password for any WiFi hot spot is unique to that hot spot so there is no general 'guest' password per se - it depends on how you setup the WiFi router.

WiFi routers also have a web-based interface where you can open a browser from a connected PC and manage the device. Again, the device's instruction manual will tell you how to do this.

If the router was supplied by your internet service provider you should be able to call them for help.

The Box claims there is a Guest Access. I find no reference or settings within the Router Set up for this activity. How do I set up Guest Access?

Hi Norman,
For guest access:
You can allow guests to use your Internet connection without joining your personal network.
.
The network name and password for the guest network is located on the network information card found under the foot of your Router
.
A person using your guest network will be able to join without a password, but will be shown a login page when they attempt to surf the Web..
They will need to enter the guest password into this page to continue.
Hope this helps!
Please Rate if it did!
Thanks,

Belkin N300 Surf problems

The router has to be manually configured in the gui page within it to allow remote wireless access point. This is not done by default as a security feture on routers. The way to find out the ip address of the router to set up a wireless access point or remote configuration is to go on your machine that has active working internet and click start, all programs, accessories, right click comand prompt, select run as administrator, confirm, then once in comand prompt admin, typ in ipconfig /all, then look for default gateway in the first list shown this is the ip of your router. Hope this helps.
