You will have to determine what smoked before you can attempt to repair it.

Disconnect it from the power source (don't forget to pull the main power fuse feeding the amp) and open it up to see if you can see what smoked.

You might have blown a mosfet transistor or resistor inside the amp

How do I hook up two p3 4 ohm subs to a 2 ohm

You would hook that up by connecting positive to positive and negative to negative. Then connecting those connections to the matching connections of the amp channel you are using depending if you are using a mono or dual channel amp. Keep in mind that if you are trying to hook this up in bridged mode. It cuts your ohms by half, meaning it will be running at 1ohm. My recommendation would be to run both speakers in series. Positive to negative going to one speaker to the other creating an 8ohm so when you bridge the amp, that's if you are. You'll be running at 4ohms giving you a better cleaner sound 1ef8df95-a777-45c2-94f3-f560ae3fd5ef.jpg

What would be the best amp to push 2 kicker 15 L7s

find the ohms on each subwoofer and how much it can handle. If you have two 4 ohm subs get a powerful MONO AMP and hook it up in parallal. If you have two 2 ohm subs get a (1 ohm stable) Powerful MONO AMP and hook it up in parallel or a powerful 2 CHANNEL AMP but the wiring can be a little complicated cause you've got to connect the subs in series and bridge it on the positive of 1 channel and the negative of 2nd channel for maximium benefit without burning out the 2 channel amp. If you got two 500 Watt subs then you got to find an amp that can put out 1000Watts anything less wont sound good and may burn out the subs because of too much distortion cause of lack of power.

How to hook it up to system with two 10s 400 watts per sub and two 6x9s at 200 watts each?,subs behind seats, 6x9s in doors. IF i need another amp i have one,to help push. But either way i need your help...

Hello www_mitzjohn,

I'd definitely use another amp.

The 2-channel Sony is well suited for powering the 6X9's but a monoblock would be better for the subs. The different types of speakers running from the same channel will not sound very good and likely it'll be impossible to get the impedances to match.

You'll want to set the Sony to send higher frequencies to the 6X9's, but not to the subs. You can't adjust the channels individually. So, just connect each 6X9 to one channel of the Sony and use a monoblock subwoofer amp for the subs.

Hope this helps.

High wattage car stereo

positive (1 guage) from main battery to second battery positive terminal. hook all amps positive to second battery and hook 2nd battery ground to frame of car (where amp is now grounded) if you have a 2nd battery a cap is a waste of money. make sure all grounds (battery and amps) are together on same ground point of car, do not ground amps to battery - ground everything to 1 spot on the frame or body of the car ! - yes you can pigtail remote leads.

Improper function

try hooking up your subwoofers in series. then connecting them bridged to the amplifier. as follows: positive from sub#1 into positive of amplifier left channel.. negative sub#1 into positive sub#2. negative sub#2 into negative amplifier right channel. turn the gain down as this will sound pretty loud.

8 ohm to 4 ohm

All you need to do is wire your 2 subs together in parallel. This means Hooking the positives of both subs together, as well as hooking both negatives together.

Your total resistance:

Rt = (R1 x R2) / (R1 + R2) = (8 x 8) / (8+8) = 4
