Rheem super quiet 80 beeping about every 25 seconds

Furnace will beep once approximately every 25 seconds several times and then stop for a time before starting again. (About 12 hours ago, I had to reset a limit switch and operation seems normal except for beeping described)

SOURCE: High limit switch open on armstrong furnace

If you know where the high limit switch is you can always cut the two wires and wire them together causing the limit to close. But what you have to watch out for is why the high limit is not closing. That means in your return air either you have a dirty return air duct, dirty filter, or you don't have all your registors open to allow the heat to escape the heat exchanger. Just watch over riding the system. The high limit switch should either be on or behind the blower, in the middle of the system right under the heat exchanger. any other questions about hvac just ask.

SOURCE: i have a tempstar combine air conditioner and

If the unit is around 6 years old then it could be the combustion air motor. If the unit is older then you need to inspect the heat exchanger for signs of cracks. Take the top off the unit to inspect. Check to see if the metal around the reset is hot and if it is then the switch is doing it's job. If the heat chamber is cracked then turn the gas off, because your home will have CO. This can kill you.

When you unscrew the bottom cap, there is a "rubber plug" you need to pull out. It is not on the diagram, go figure.

SOURCE: I have a Rheem Prestige

Dang that simply sounds to me like a contaminated flame sensor. Junk gets on the sensor and the resistance won't change quick enough for the control to confirm ignition. Get a dry brillo pad and clean that ******. here is a video:

I have a Rheem Classic Super Quiet 80 gas furnace (for heat). The fan stops when the "heat" turns on.

Any time I ever had trouble, first thing to suspect is the thermostat.
They lose contact sometimes and sometimes you tap the face and they work til next glitch.
If the thermostat has some years on it,go ahead and replace it.
Can't you just leave the heat and fan in auto? That would be best,I think. don-ohio

Hello, check the flame sensor, this is a metal rod on the opposite side of the igniter. Turn off power to the furnace remove flame sensor and clean it up with some steel wool, then reinstall and turn power back on to the furnace.

Hi,
no just repalce all the covers and then cycle to power to the unit and it should take off and go...be aware that the t-stat could take five minutes or so to recycle and star the unit also..

Bad fan switch. It may also be called a fan limit switch. If your furnace is less than 5 years old, the switch is part of the circuit board and you will need to replace the board.
