I have a 9 year old siemans washer/dryer which has recently developed a mind of it's own.
It stops during a wash cycle, if I switch it off and on again it starts and completes the wash but stops during each rinse cycle, again I have to switch it off an on every time. It doesn't do it quite so often if I use the higher water level button
-   same problem, however now it suddenly create a ground fault, i.e. the current is turned off in the whole house. I suspect that it is when the heat is turned on. The rinse, spinning and the dryer is working perfectly.-   husstand

I have a german washing machine -- a Privileg Duo 1080. It was in storage for about 10 years, I just plugged it in (220) and it goes, but the drain pump seems weak-- it won't lift the water the 3 feet I need to get it to the drain. It does drain out at floor level. I took the pump out - it's a little Italian made pump brand name Askoll. I bench tested it and the impeller spins alright, but at an irregular speed and strength. The windings are all shiny and clean and the wiring looks good (i don't have a multi-tester, however). the impeller shaft doesn't feel gritty or sticky when I rotate it manually, and it seems to be sealed - no way to lube it. Any thoughts are appreciated.
