Question about Yamaha HTR-5940 Receiver
I have att an uverse remote that turns on the uverse box, LCD but it will not turn on my Yamaha reciever. However, one the remote will turn the reciever off. How can I get it to turn the rcvr on and off? I tried all of the codes and doing the manual code method. Help. Same problem with the Uverse remote and my receiver.

LSoko007's SOLUTION works for only turning Yamaha receiver OFF. NOTE: Yamaha remotes have two power buttons - one for ON, and one for OFF.
Better idea, if your Yamaha Receiver cam with a LEARNING remote...use it, not the UVerse Remote. Much easier. You'll have to sacrifice some Uverse buttons, but it beats the multi-remote pileup. Hopefully you have the Remote with the Channel buttons separate from the <^> arrow buttons, cuz i dont so i have to use the arrow buttons for going up/down channels via PIP. Not perfect, but again, it beats the multi-remote option.

I have AT&T Uverse and I just successfully programmed the remote to power on/off and control volume on my Yamaha-RX550. Try codes 6009 or 6012.
