Question about Korg Mr1 Digital Mobile Recorder

1 Answer

MR-1 cannot be mounted via USB

This morning, when trying to connect the MR-1 to the PC, it was no longer found as a drive. Instead, a message appeared asking for a device driver for some "Cypress AT2LP" device. However, no such thing was found, neither contained on the MR-1 CD. The MR-1 harddrive does not appear on any of our computers, and I cannot access and transfer the files. The unit itself is functioning as usual. I have reset it via the hole on the side, to no avail. Thanks Chris

Bounced trks 3&4 to 7&8 clicked on wav file button canceled says out of capacity

You have a memory problem. If you are using a flash card for memory or a CD drive or perhaps you have configured an external drive, you need to free up some space. Try deleting tracks or songs you don't need anymore.

Each song is independent on a CompactFlash
without affecting other songs. You can give a desired song name for managing recorded songs
(see pages 23 and 91).
Recorded track data is stored in a song as mono WAV files.
The MR-8mkII can convert the two WAV files recorded on tracks 7 and 8 (L and R) to a stereo
WAV file (see page 115).
You can export the converted stereo WAV file to your USB-connected personal computer, and
use the file by a music software application or make an original audio CD on the computer using
a CD burn software application. You can also burn an audio CD by using an external CD-R/RW
drive connected via the [USB HOST] port of the MR-8mkII (see page 115 and 123)

What does a fuse look like for a Lowrey Teenie Genie organ and where is it?

When someone asks me a question like this, I get shivers up and down my back for I worry about the possible personal safety risks the questioner is either likely or prepared to put themselves to.

Look, let's be realistic, if you don't understand what a fuse looks like, you are not going to be given a carte blanche run down of what to do from this Technician of 45 years experience. You simply would not be allowed into my workshop.

If you want to satisfy your curiosity, get the Technician you call in to check your organ out to show it to you. That way you will enlightened.........and remain SAFE from possible electrocution.

Make no mistake about it, 240 volts AC 50 Hertz is LETHAL !

My Fostex MR-8HD states "Illegal song name" when

On page 22 of your manual, it appears that the warning message is used for more than one thing.

Make sure that you have entered the new song name text and it is accepted since if the name is not entered and accepted you will get that message.

If the text is unacceptable OR you try to advance to song creation when name has not been accepted will bring up that message.

The manual is really poor and I can understand your frustration.

It is UNCLEAR to us exactly at what point in the entry the message appears. Have you entered all the song name using all letters and then selected the enter function below? Does the message appear before you select the enter? or after you do...?

My pa 800 cant link with pc....device driver software was not successfully installed !

Read the installation instructions very carefully.

OFTEN these devices need drivers installed that sometimes must have the USB cable connected, other cannot have it connected while loading.

I have even found some that one has to install while in "safe mode".

ALSO verify that you have the operating system in your computer that is required... Often older software will not work with Vista or Win 7.

Hard drive failure

First thing is to open the unit and make sure the drive is connected. Sometimes cables get knocked off.

Next get a new drive... they are relatively inexpensive, like $69 or so and try it.

Take the old drive in your hand and snap your wrist to impart a spin to it. Then try the drive again... If it comes back to life, SAVE ALL THE DATA from it quick, and transfer to the new drive.

I have a clavinova CVP 409. If I try to record using an external memory device (external Hard drive or memory stick, a message appears; DISC ERROR. Can you please help me solve the problem or direct me...

I SUSPECT that the CVP 409 will ONLY talk to the Yamaha USB floppy drive, not a hard drive or memory stick.

The internal drivers for these musical instruments do not have the "smarts" to talk to the wide variety of peripherals that PC's are able to.

My hard drive and midi controller wont work with usb

When you connect a hard drive and any other USB device to a 4 port hub you have to use the external power supply all the time. You may have fried the power pins on the USB port you used to connect the 4 port hub. If you can get the hard drive to work separately on the USB port, the 4 port hub may no longer be passing power from the laptop.
