SOURCE: dryer won't spin

step 1- remove the face of the dryer, then remove the cover for the fan, check to see if object is blocking the fan, if object is there , remove object, if not go to step 2

step 2- check to see if the belt is broken, if the belt is broken replace the belt.

step 3 - remove the belt from the motor and turn the dryer on, if the motor doesn’t turn then you need to replace the motor.

SOURCE: squeaky dryer

Depends how technical you are. More than likely it is the rollers (depending on who made the Kenmore). Go to www.apwagner.com and you can get the parts there. Or if you are unsure about taking it all apart, call for service.

SOURCE: How do I remove a roller

hi
The front of the dryer's drum is usually supported by two rollers. These wheels are either metal with a rubber rim or pressed nylon. If the rollers squeak but appear to be in good condition, apply a few drops of 20-weight nondetergent motor oil (not all-purpose oil) to them. If the rollers are worn, you can replace them if the roller assembly is not riveted. To replace drum rollers:

Step 1: Remove the front of the cabinet. Rollers are usually held on a metal shaft by a spring clip.

Step 2: Remove the rollers by prying the spring clip off with a screwdriver. Under the clip are a washer, the rollers, and another washer. You might have to remove a small nut at the back of the shaft and remove the shaft itself to reach the rollers. Remove the rollers from the shaft and clean away built-up lint and dirt before installing the new roller. This dirt and lint buildup could cause the drum to turn slowly, which prevents proper drying and strains other dryer components.

Step 3: Install the new rollers on the shaft with the washers in the same position.

SOURCE: GE Dryer DPSR483GA2WW too noisy

Remove the rear panel from the unit. This should expose the motor, drive belts, and the drum bearings. Now turn on the unit and your may be able to determine where the noise is coming from. Keep your hands away from moving parts and electrical connections!!

SOURCE: LG DLE2516W Dryer suddenly making loud vibrating noise

Until you know how serious a problem you have, I'd advise against continued use. If you are in the USA, go to http://www.lge.com/us/support/repair/support-repair-provider-lookup.jsp
to find a service provider for in warranty service, or call LG USA at 800-243-0000.

Maytag dryer makes loud squeeling noise when it gets hot. Drys clothes but makes such a loud squeeling noise. Have to let it cool down to continue to dry.

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.

A loud squeal is usually caused by either an idler pulley bearing. a drum roller bearing or a loose belt.

Since you did not include a model number I have to respond with generic across the board information. Idler pulleys, drum rollers and belts for Maytags can be found on this link:
(Just past half way down the page) http://www.apwapplianceparts.com/Laundry+Appliance+Parts/Dryer+Appliance+Parts+/Dryer+Drive+Belts+Idler+Pulleys+and+Support+Rollers/default.aspx

You can enter your model number on this page and find your parts: (Choose model number)
http://www.appliancepartspros.com

If you do repair it yourself.... do yourself a HUGE favor and either take a picture of the belt routing or draw a belt routing diagram BEFORE dis-assembly.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

the belt that spins the dryers drum around has a belt tensioner located at the botton base of the body. If the roller bearing goes bad the sound you hear is caused by that. Replace the belt as well when replacing the roller or the whole tensioner if needed

Maytag sde3606ayw make loud screeching noise

You Need to replace the drum Rollers. They cost around 10.00 Each online, 20.00 Each at your Dealer. Please Dont try to Put Oil on The Roller Shaft. It will come off and make its Way To Your Clothing. Martin Appliance Sells Specific Oil for the shaft for around 8.00. Thanks Sean

Loud noise when dryer is running.

My guess is that the belt is going bad. It could also be a bad bearing...the noise is generally metallic. Also...a bad belt tensioner comes to mind.

Very loud fan or vibration noise

Listen from the back of the TV and locate the source of the noise. There may be fan with a bad bearing. The noise will lead you to it.

Noisy drier

I had the same problem with my dryer. The large cloths drum rides on two wheel bearing rollers that are mounted behind the drum. If one of those bearings to the rollers wears out, it will make a loud racket. If you want to repair it your self, purchase a repair manual for your model dryer. Then Disessemble the front of the dryer to expose the large drum. Remove the belt that goes around the drum. Then remove the drum. You will then be able to see the two rollers that the drum rides on. Go to your nearest parts store and replace both of them. Good luck.
