Belt on treadmill is moving towards the right and bunching up

you need to adjust the travel of belt. to do this you need a allen wrench that came with it. if you have it run treadmill at slow speed,go to the rear right at the right end cap there is a hole, use the allen wrench and unscrew slowly while watching the belt until returns to the middle. if it slips when walking go back to rear and adjust by screwing in one turn on each side until belt wont slip.

Belt is slipping.... does this mean I need a new belt?

Typically you can tighten the belt with an allen wrench at the rear of the belt, treadmill be sure to align belt before tightening. Alternate each side as you tighten

How to align new belt, the belt works to one side when it is turned on

Hi Michelle,
Typically, you'll need a 3/16" allen wrench or a similar size allen wrench, you may have been provided one with your machine.
1. unfold your unit (as applicable)
2. at the end that you just laid down, there's typically two allen screws, one on each side of the belt
3. Turn your treadmill on, 3 rpm or so.
4. Adjust the allen screws and watch the belt track one way or the other.
for instance, if you tighten the right side screw (turning it CW) this will pull the roller closer to you, tighting the belt on the right, this should make the belt move to the left - since it is NOT as tight.
5. adjust the left side the same way if you want the belt to go right
6. if you need to tighten the belt, alternate both screws CW until the belt is tight.
7. conversely, turn the screws CCW if you need to loosen the belt.

Added note: be sure to use some belt lubricant as directed by your user's manual, to prolong your treadmills life. Belts run about $100 and most people will throw their treadmill out, before spending that kind of cash on it. so,..it's worth the $10 to buy the lubricant!

Enjoy! and I hope you stick with it!

I have a Nordic Track treadmill C1800. When first

You have 1,2 or maybe 3 problems. 1st is you need to remove the cover over the motor. The belt that the motor turns may be slipping. You need to loosen the bolt that keeps the tension on the drive belt. Push down to tighten manually and then tighten bolt. While your in there you should check the drive belt for wear. If you have used the treadmill a lot it may need replacement. $20 from readmilldocter.com The walking belt if badly worn can be replaced for like $99 but probably is fine. put all back together and tighten tension. Should be able to lift walking belt 3 to 4 inches from center sides. Any less and its too tight. Its probably better to just replace the drive belt anyway. This should work. Do not over tighten ever. This is the cause of most problems.

My treadmill allignment is off i tried using the instructions to fix it but no luck

The belt must be running while you adjust the alignment. At the very back of the treadmill. [Not the control end] You will see a hole on both the left and the right and left (some don't have the left hole, mine does). If you have the allen wrench that came with the machine insert it in the right side hole (when facing the machine at the back looking at the hole. If you don't have the allen wrech you will need to buy a set and determine the right size to adjust. What you are going to do is adjust the angle of the back roller. If the belt is too close to the right side, your going to want to tighten (turn clockwise) the allen wrench. If the belt is too close to the left loosen (turn counter clockwise). Make sure you run the machine while making the adjustments and go in small increments. Good Luck!

Belt slips when using treadmill

Hi, I don't know which particular model treadmill you have but most all treadmills use the same type of belt tension and tracking, which is an allen screw adjustment on the rear tension bar. One on either side. Treadmills normally come with an allen wrench, and could be attached on the treadmill somewhere, if not then use one of your own the proper size. Make the adjustment with the unit running at its slowest speed. Clockwise tightens the tension and will draw the belt. Good Luck, this should Fixya!

Treadmill adjustment general lines?

"The best treadmills are those that provide you easy access to belt tracking. But, even the best treadmills with the most easily accessible belt tracking are also susceptible to stretch slightly under initial use. That is why it is important that you adjust the tread belt every so often to keep it away from stretching. Most manufacturers include the Allen wrench (a tool consisting of a hexagonal head and an L-shaped bar) in the package when you buy a treadmill from them. Use it to tighten both the belt adjustment screws clockwise. If your manufacturer did not supply you with an Allen wrench, use another of the right size. A ¼ turn, clockwise should tighten treadbelt if it has loosened. The screws for belt adjustment are usually located at the rear end of the treadmill. Some belts do require looser running than others so don’t be surprised if your treadbelt is a little loose even when you haven’t actually used it. Check the user’s guide before making adjustments just to make sure that whatever you are doing is correct. Moreover, be sure to keep the belt running at a low speed of around 3 mph when adjusting the belt tracking. This is the ideal speed when making any adjustments with the screws. Maintaining your treadmill is necessary to upkeep it's performance and looks. A little bit of adjustment here and there can make your treadmill a life long companion. "
