Question about Brother PE770 Computerized Sewing Machine

1 Answer

Brother pacesetter ULT2003D

Machine works fine in stitching on thicker fabrics but when stitching on thinner items like handkerchiefs it keeps saying check and rethread upper thread. But the thread is still threaded fine. I rethread and have redone the bobbin but still get same error.

Try using a different spool of thead on the top and bobbin
also try changing the needle
and if these suggestions don't help then call the repair shop and check
with them about the machine not sewing light fabric

SOURCE: My brother PE-400 sewing quit sewing

The "race" on your machine needs adjusting. Remove the bobbin cover, bobbin, & case. What you have left is the race, it moves when you turn the large wheel on the top right of machine. The needle also moves up and down. There is a hook on the race that catches the needle thread. Try moving the race to the line up with the needle. It may take a couple of trys but it should do the trick. Also clean any threads that may be caught on or arround the race. Hope this helps!

How to do sideways sewing on brother 12501nnovis sewing machine

Here's a manual to download:

Manuals Innov is 1250 United Kingdom Brother

FWIW, most sewing machines will perform sideways stitching only when following an embroidery program or when darning/free motion stitching in which case a darning foot is attached, the feed dogs are dropped, and the fabric is manipulated manually.

What is the needle size for brothe 911 sewing machine

Be sure to change the needle frequently, ie every time you start a new project. Needles will cause a great deal of frustration yet are the least expensive item to fix.

Information on brother ult2003d machines

"So Long" means to increase the number of stitches.
Not filling in I'm assuming means you are missing stitches. Check underneath the fabric to see if the top stitch can be seen.
"No" will mean to increase the bobbin tension. The top tension should be on about four. This is the same bobbin tension that you are aiming for.

I cannot get my Pacesetter PC 6000 to adjust the the stitch length. No matter what I set it on, it looks like a basting stitch. Please help???

Quick test: Does it stitch correctly on paper? Or do you see something like _ ____ _ _ ________ _ ________ instead of _ _ _ _ ?
If it doesn't stitch correctly on paper:
Clean the machine, paying particular attention to the bobbin case and shuttle area and put in a new needle, right way around (flat side to the back) appropriate in size and thickness to the fabric you're going to sew... sharps for wovens, ballpoints for knits.
This is often a user error -- needle in backwards, needle size too small for the fabric, needle point style wrong for the fabric -- but it can also be due to a bad needle, dirty machine or a machine a little out of time (though that's quite rare). It can also be due to "flagging" -- the fabric rises and falls with the needle like kids bouncing on a trampoline. Paper or other stabilizer above and/or below the seam can help.

How do I set for basting

Some compuerised machines will have a basting stitch programmed in, it may have a symbol like a dot then a long dash then another dot. This will give you a decent spaced basting stitch. On mechanical machines sometimes you can get a basting needle plate - you set up for the longest widest zigzag stitch and the tube on the plate makes one side of the zig not catch so you get a long straight stitch.

But if you are joining silky fine fabrics together, then needle and length of thread doubled is still the best way, takes a little longer but the fabrics won't creep and slip.

Would like to buy a ballpoint needle for Brother XL-2610 machine. Co you sell them? What size should I get for fine cotton jersey? The manual says to get 75/11-90/14.

For light weight cotton use size 11 even 10, thinner ones, instead for heavier fabric use size 14 that is thicker.

Get an assorted pack of ball pointed needles and test them. The needles below are for your Brother machine.

I would try embroidering on a scrap of like material to get the tension you want. My Brother (different model) manual doesn't say any specific tension setting for embroidering but just says to set the tension right for the fabric to be worked. If the fabric is stretchy, I suggest using a little looser tension than say cotton, just make sure it doesn't pucker the fabric.
