A volume screen pops up in the middle of my desktop, The mouse cursor has no effect on it. It also counts up and down, then goes away and comes back, very agitating.

My HP w2207 monitor, automatically randomly pop up the volume control, it will automatically decrease the volume to 0, some time automatically increase the volume without control.

it stays on the middle of the screen. The mouse disappear when I move the mouse over the volume control.

The menu button at the bottom of the screen, when click, does not show menu, as it suppose to do. Instead, it show volume control. This volume control is related to HDMI audio input

Seems to be a problem with the buttons. I disassembled the monitor and disconnected the cable that goes to the buttons. Volume menu does not pop up now. HOWEVER, none of the buttons will work anymore (i.e. you cannot make any adjustments to the video nor volume), nor do you have a power button / power light. Before disassembling, I had left the monitor powered on and disconnected the cord at the mains so that it would power up when I plugged it back in. 10 minute job.

Sounds like one of the front panel buttons is stuck in - possibly the volume down button. If no buttons work, this could be the reason why. Just a guess. If they all feel OK, it may still be worth pulling the back off, (Without electricuting yourself -DISCONNECT POWER!) remove the PCB board that has the buttons on it, and see if it turns on without the menu. If so, check all buttons, rare but I have seen one that looked fine but with a multimeter it showed it wasnt working. If the screen still displays the menu, Id say there is a bigger problem... HTH

I fixed mine with a piece of popsicle stick and duct tape. Take a piece of popsicle stick and break it so you have about an inch long piece. Place it on the far left button. Use duct tape to hold it in place. As long as the button stays pressed, the pop up doesn't come back.

Replace lcd on gateway NV57h77u

I disagree. The procedure is so easy no Service Manual is needed

1) Remove ALL power. Remove the AC adapter, and Battery.

2) Open the laptop.

The plastic frame in front of the LCD screen is the Display Bezel.
(Gateway? Believe they call it the LCD Panel Bezel)

Down in the BOTTOM corners, next to the Hinges, are screws to be removed. One in each bottom corner.

There are Screw Covers over these screws. The Screw Covers need to be removed.
Little round covers I believe to be made of plastic.
(Some models they are made of synthetic rubber)

I use a computer pick to Gently remove them.
Some use the tip of an X-Acto knife. I do not recommend this as there is a possibility of injury.
Perhaps a large darning needle. (Needle you sew with, but is Large in size)

Pick up at one edge of Screw Cover. Screw Covers are held on by a type of rubber cement.
I LIGHTLY stick them to the Display Bezel for safekeeping.

(Yes. They like to stick to the tool, your fingers, and it seems passing jets in the sky.
If you are careful with them, you should be able to reuse them.
If they do not stick anymore, use a toothpick, and apply a TINY dab of rubber cement to them/it )

Once the Screw Covers are removed use a No.1 Philips screwdriver, or equivalent Jewelers screwdriver; to remove the 2 screws.

The Display Bezel has TABS going around the exterior perimeter, of it's inside edges.
These Tabs snap into matching LATCHES on the Display Cover.

You can come from the Outside edge, where the Display Bezel meets the Display Cover, and use a thick guitar pick.

The guitar pick is wedged into the parting line, of where the Display Bezel meets the Display Cover.

Once a 'crack' is formed in-between the two, then the fingertips are used to gently start popping the bezel from the cover.

You slowly go along with your fingertips, and work along the top, then sides. By the time you have both sides almost loose, the Display Bezel usually pops off.

I like the flex method.
Come to the inside edge of the Display Bezel.
Where it meets the LCD screen. I suggest start on the Right side/Middle.

Use a fingertip, and lift up the inside edge of the Display Bezel up a little. Can't lift up at that spot? Move over. You are at a Tab/Latch.

With this spot lifted up a little, use the fingertip of the other hand, and slide under next to it.
Now use your fingertips as wedges, and pop the Display Bezel loose a little at a time.

I start at the Right side/Middle as stated. Left hand fingertips go DOWN the right side, Right hand fingertips go UP the right side.
Then I go across the Top, and down the Left side.

MOST of the time, as stated; the Display Bezel usually pops off when right side, and left side are most of the way popped loose.
NOT always though!

Sometimes you have to pop EACH and EVERY Tab/Latch loose.

Also; watch around the Hinge area/s.
Display Bezel can get hung up around them.
Go slow, and gently work the Display Bezel off, around the Hinge areas.

Display Bezel popped off, sit back; relax. You just did the hard part.
Wasn't so tough, huh?

This is what the Display Bezel looks like removed,

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Gateway-NV57H15U-LCD-Front-Bezel-15-6-AP0HJ00021-/171020787909?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27d1a220c5

The MAIN view shown is a BACK view.
In the smaller views underneath, the 4th view from the Left, shows the FRONT view.

If you SET your mouse cursor in the middle of the Main view photo, the Zoom In feature is enabled.
You can CLICK on any of the smaller views, to make them appear as a Main view.

You can also see that the Hinge Covers, are an integral part of the Display Bezel. Shows you that when removing the Display Bezel, these Hinge Covers may need to be worked off of the Hinges.

Of course, may not; as I have previously stated.

The LCD screen is an Assembly. It is composed of layers.
These layers are kept in the factory set alignment, by a metal Screen Frame.
The Screen Frame resembles a picture frame.

There are THREE screws on each side of the Screen Frame.
These screws (Philips) go through metal Brackets, and hold the LCD screen/Screen Frame; to the Display Cover.

The Brackets are an integral part of the Hinges,

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Gateway-NV55-NV57-LCD-Left-Hinge-Rail-Bracket-AM0HJ000100-/400334888754?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5d35d19f32

On EACH side, there is 1 screw towards the Top, 1 screw towards the Bottom/Middle, and 1 screw towards the Bottom.

Remove all 6 screws.

At the Top is the Webcam Cable. Unplug it from the Webcam Module.
(Cable pulls to LEFT side, facing laptop)

The TOP of the LCD screen is now tilted forward.
The Video Cable plugs into the Bottom side.

There should be a piece of clear Mylar tape, holding the Video Cable connector in place. Carefully peel it back, unplug the Video Cable from the LCD screen.

Remove the LCD screen.

Reverse steps to install new LCD screen.

Acer aspire laptop screen problem.looks like ink burst behind screen

Suggest you replace the LCD screen, pearlboslem. It is damaged.

If you post the Acer Aspire model number, I can find replacement LCD screens for your perusal, and should be able to find a Service Manual. (Free)
I will also guide you step by step the best I can.

This is on the Bottom of the laptop in a white Service Tag.

If you have never replaced an LCD screen in a laptop, the task may look daunting.
I assure you it isn't.

Generally the plastic strip that is above the Keyboard, and below the LCD screen, is removed.
Usually the Power On button, and LED indicator lights are in this plastic strip.
Different manufacturers have different names for this strip of plastic.
LED Cover, Power Button Cover, etc.

With a lot of Acer laptops the LCD screen can simply be accessed by removing the Display Bezel, and the plastic strip does not have to be removed.
(Some laptops do not have a plastic strip)

In the front of the LCD screen, and surrounding the LCD screen, is a thin plastic frame.
This is the Display Bezel.

Most display bezel's have rubber screw covers, going around the front of the bezel.
These are gently picked off with a computer pick, or suitable tool.
They have a type of rubber cement on them, and if careful, they can be reused.
(Stuck back into place)

The screws are just Philips head screws. Once removed the Bezel is slightly flexed, and popped off.

{The outside edges of the Bezel have tabs. Plastic protrusions formed out of the Bezel itself.
These tabs mate up with mating tabs in the Display Cover. The top cover of the laptop.

The tips of the fingers are put on an inside/middle edge of the Bezel, and used to gently ease this inside edge up a little. (Care is used so that fingernails do not touch/scratch the LCD screen)

With the inside/middle edge brought up enough to insert a second finger, the second finger slides down, and eases up on the inside edge again.

The tabs will start popping loose. The procedure is to keep moving along the inside edge with your finger tips, and keep popping the tabs loose. Once you are 1/2 way around, or so, the Bezel will pop free.

Some bezels do not have screws. The Bezel is flexed as above, so it is distorted, and the tabs pop free }

Once the Bezel is removed you are looking at the LCD screen, and how it is fastened to the Display Cover.

The LCD screen is an assembly. It is composed of layers. The layers are held in place by a screen frame. A thin metal frame that resembles a picture frame.

Usually on the left, and right side of the screen frame are metal brackets.
These are attached to the screen frame with two to four screws.
The screws are removed, and the LCD screen assembly is almost ready for removal.
There are cables (Wires) that have to be removed from the LCD screen, the Inverter at the bottom of the LCD screen, and maybe wireless antenna wires.

This gives you an idea on replacing an Acer LCD screen. Different models are shown.
Along with a pictorial guide, I may be able to find a Service Manual also,

At the end of every article for each laptop model, you will see in red -
Read the rest of the entry
Click on this for the full article on that model of laptop.

You can click on each photo shown to enlarge it.

Just to show you how relatively easy it is to replace an LCD screen, in an Acer laptop.

Post the Model Number, and I'll give you more exacting information.

Cannot remove the brightness window that pops up on my Philips 190V monitor.

2 solutions (both worked in my case in different screens)

1 - Place a big clip (see photo) locking the [Auto] button before turning on the monitor. If you do so and the button stays pushed the menu will not appear.

10_28_2012_5_09_14_pm.jpg

2 - Unplug the monitor and pull out the [Up Arrow] button or the one that pops up the menu. A sharped knife and pliers will do. It sounds crazy but it worked in my case.

I'd recommend to try solution #1 first.

No warranties but it worked in my case.

Brightness display stays on screen

There are probably only two reasons for this that I've seen. One is the button is stuck or the button circuit board is faulty. You can removed the bezel from around the screen and operate the control button at the board itself to see if the exterior button was sticking. If this doesn't work, the other cause will probably be in the video ciruit located within the main board and is unrepairable but replaceable.

Audio adjust screen pop up

I contacted ViewSonic with the same problem. They told me to turn off the monitor and unplug all the cables. Then hold the power button on the monitor for 10 seconds. Turn it back on and it should be gone.

If that doesn't work, I was told to do a memory recall on the monitor by pressing the 1 button and selecting memory recall from the list. It sets the monitor back to factory settings.

I haven't tried any of these yet but hopefully they work for someone.
