You're computer might have come installed with a recovery partition.

Reboot you PC/laptop and press and hold the follow key on reboot (you might want to keep pressing it over and over)

If you have a dell: ctrl-f11
If you have a HP: f11

How do I send password email to my other email address my original one as been shut for 30 days

If you mean you want to transfer email from an old account, if you account has been deactivated, this is not possible unless you have saved your emails locally on your computer or a back up.

Do you access your email using a web mail server or do you have an email program on your computer? If your use webmail using a browser, you are out of luck because your emails were stored other than on your computing device.

If you have an email program on your computer or other electronic device, you may be able to continue using your existing email program by just going to settings and enter the new email provider information to overwrite the old settings. In that case, see instructions for your new email provider for set up.

Lost all settings, programs, seems like computer is reset

the original settings? you mean all your programs are factory default? if that's the case it sounds like you did a factory reset instead of a restore point. you can't do that unless you're in the recovery screen. please advise

I need to reset my toshiba satellite p-205-s8811 to its factory setting, but i do not have a recovery disc for it.

Shut down the computer. Hold down the zero key and turn the computer back on. After a few moments, the Recover Utility will appear on the screen. Select the first option presented on the recovery utility. The option should be to restore an original factory image. This will erase the hard drive and reset the drive to the original factory state.

Emachine 3653 factory restore

You can use the Restore CD that came with the computer. The eMachines restore disk sets your PC back to factory settings with the original operating system and programs that were shipped with the computer. Doing so resolves many problems that can arise from long-term computer use, viruses, or the operating system slowing down.

1. To do a factory restore insert the restore CD then reboot the computer. When prompted, press any key to boot from the CD.

2. Select the option to "Reformat the drive to factory settings."

3. Follow the on-screen instructions to reinstall the operating system and original software that came with your computer.

4. Once the Restore finishes, you can re-install all the programs that you added to the computer as well as restore your files.

Reminder: Reformatting your computer erases all of your installed programs, personal documents, pictures and music. If you have the ability to, back up all of your personal data using a removable flash drive, external hard drive or DVDs before doing a Factory Restore.

How do you clean off a computer system and reinstall original settings to start over. we have a d400a insignia computer. How is the best way to restore default settings.

Hi there!
Maybe what you mean is how to reformat your computer.
Depending on the make and model of your system , you may have two choices.

1. The first will restore all your computer's original settings, applications, and drivers, yet shouldpreserve any programs and files you have added. (The few times I've tried this have yielded very different results, so be sure your data is backed-up!) That being said, you should be able to do something like this:
Start>All Programs>System Recovery>Application & Driver Recovery.

2. The surest method is to use the Windows recovery CD that came with your machine. This method will completely wipe-out and reformat your hard drive, then do a new installation of Windows. Be sure all your files are backed up so you can reinstall them, and that you have copies of any programs you wish to reload.

I would not suggest you perform this operation unless you are knowledgeable with computers. You may suffer the risk of deleting important files on your computer. You may seek help from a qualified technician to do this.
Hope this helps!

How to uninstall k9 in computer

If you used the installer, the control panel Add/Remove programs or programs and features has the uninstall.

If you used the zipfile only, simply delete the k9.exe file and the emails folder (normally in the same directory). Then modify your email accounts in your mail client. (the original setting are there, but have extra info for k9, or simply set them back up from your email providers instructions)

My pc is infected, and I need to reboot it to its factory settings.

Restore your Laptop to Factory Settings is an EASY utility BUILT into Windows -- it CLEANS and hardware. But, it is HANDY. jQuery(document).ready(function(){ jQuery('.intro .thumbnail a:first').attr('href',''); }); Rebooting your laptop back to its factory settings restores your computer and its hardware to its original settings when it was purchased. This is helpful when troubleshooting major hardware and system performance issues. It can also be used to fix virus related issues. Restoring your computer to its factory settings is similar to performing a clean install of your operating system. Windows uses a utility program called System Restore that allows you to restore your computers settings to a specific date.
jQuery('.intro .thumbnail').each(function(i,e){ jQuery(e).find('img').one('error',function(){ jQuery(e).remove(); }); }); Difficulty: Easy Instructions
  1. Step 1 Turn on your computer, and then click on the "Start" menu icon in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen. Select "All Programs," and then click on the "Accessories" drop-down menu.
  2. Step 2 Scroll down to "System Tools," and then select the "System Restore" program and wait for it to open.
  3. Step 3 Select the "Restore My Computer to an Earlier Time" option, and then click on the "Next" button to continue. A window with a calendar will appear.
  4. Step 4 Click on the back arrow in the calendar's window. Click on the back-arrow until you have reached the date you either purchased or installed Windows on your Notebook. Select the appropriate date, and then click on the "Next" button to continue. Your computer will automatically restart.

Hello from Texas! I have a Compaq laptop I purchased in 2001 that friend upgraded from Windows 2000 to XP. Since they did it, several programs do not work, including my DVD. I would like to go back to...

As a general rule you can go back if you have the original disks.
To remove programs;
Open control panel and double click on "Add or Remove Programs".
Sellect "Change or remove programs".
Find the program you want to remove and hit the "Remove" button.
