Creating a password should be one of the first things you should do when you are setting up your computer for the first time. If you need help to find out how to do it then the following steps will assist you. Step 1 Begin by selecting Start - Control Panel - User Accounts and Family. In the window you will see the Change Your Windows password option. Click on the link. Select the account that you will be assigning a password to. The Create a Password For Your Account link will appear Click this link. Step 2 Input the password you have chosen, confirm the password. To help you remember input a password hint. This will be visible to everyone who uses the computer. Step 3 When you have typed in your password hint you can then hit the 'Create Password' button. This button will appear as 'Change Password' if you already have set up a previously. Step 4 After pressing the 'Create Password' button the 'Make Changes to Your User Account' window will reappear. You will notice that in this window you have the option to remove your password if you want. To do this all you have to do is click in the Remove Your Password command. Step 5 Finally, click on the close button and that is your Windows password set up. You can also setup additional user accounts if you wish. Follow these steps to do it. Step 1 Ensure your administer privileges enable you to do this. Click on Start then Control Panel. Step 2 In the Control Panel box you should see the button to add or remove the user accounts. Click the button. Step 3 The Manage Accounts window will appear and in this window you will see a link to create a new account. Click on this link. Step 4 The Manage Accounts window will appear. Enter your account names and choose the sort of account that you wish to set up. You have 2 options as follows: • Standard user: this basically means you do not have the same privileges as the administrator. • Administrator: this level allows you to create accounts and install software. It is advisable that only one individual should be assigned as the administrator. Step 5 When you have decided on the account you want then press the Create button and close the Control Panel window. or if its for a router there are to many router brands for me to post indidually each one will be different to set up a password I suggest you make copies of all passwords as word documents and be kept on a separate device from your computer and note pad incase of memory lapses.
this will take a bit longer to access your computer because of the log in process
Hope this helps.

How to get master password for hitachi hard drive

Wow, why don't you know the password? I'm not calling you a thief, but 99% of the time when you encounter a computer that has a lock on the hard drive and the person in possession of the computer does not know the password, the computer is stolen. The original owner puts a lock on it to keep thieves from getting to sensitive data.

How do you unlock a computer

What's locked on it? There are three passwords that can be set on a computer. 1) Bios Password, 2) Hard Drive Password & 3) Windows Welcome Screen User Logon Password. Which one are you talking about?

If you're talking about the Hard Drive Password, then 99% of the time it's a stolen laptop. If you're smart enough to set the hard drive password, you're smart enough to remember it. The Hard Drive Password is set the by original owner to keep thieves from getting to sensitive data. Sometimes the original turns on the Hard Drive Password remotely once the laptop is stolen. The only way to break the code is for the original owner to put the password in. The stolen laptop is useless to the thieves without the Hard Drive Password.

What is the built in hdd pass word

Hard Drives do not have a built in password. Hard drives are password protected by the original owner to keep thieves from getting into sensitive data. If your hard drive has a password on it and you don't know the password, then 99% of the time it means you have a stolen laptop. The original owner might have always had it password locked on the hard drive or once it was stolen they may have had the ability to lock it remotely. The only way you'll be able to use that laptop is to get the original owner to key in and remove the password from the hard drive or purchase another hard drive and get it installed, load the operating system, load the drivers, load the application programs.

How do you reset hard drive password

If you don't know the original password, and the password is truly on the hard drive, and not in the computer itself, you're pretty much going to have to take the drive to a data recovery house.

Toshiba laptop hdd1/ssd1 password i don't know

You can try calling Toshiba's laptop support line but they will require proof of ownership. If they can't get it removed then your only option is to get a new hard drive. Reason is because when a hard drive password is put on a hard drive its programmed into the circuitry in the hard drive so if you don't remember the password then you can't get past that screen.
