After my heater fires I hear a loud bang a see flames shooting out the blower. The heater keeps working but happens every time it starts up. why?

Sounds like something happened with gas pressure?
Way high?
Absolutely, call somebody / a tech that knows how to test for gas pressures using a Manometer. Your Gas provider, should have a tech service dept.

Pentair mastertemp 250 NA. heater will not fire, no error codes. starts fine, gas flows, igniter heating but still will not fire. It has a new valve, gas pressure entering valve from new regulator is 8.35...

All appearances - No fuel to ignite!
evrything else looks good, proper gas pressure, proper volts at igniter, etc - it should ignite! If fuel present, heater should Fire!
make sure all valves are open.
Gas valve is ON
AND purge any air from gas line.
IMPORTANT ****. If you bled gas line, don't try to ignite for a few minutes. Allow gas to dissipate first, use a fan to help.

My mater temp is only 2 months old and has stopped working. The gas pressure in drops from 7.5 to 0 when the valve opens. I have had the gas compnay replace the meter and regulator with no lcuk. There is...

No matter what the gas company says. If you are taking a menometer reading at the inlet to th gas valve, and you know that you have the proper lengths and diameter of gas pipe, And you have no flex pip on the gas line, then th gas company is wrong, and you need a larger regulator or a regulator adjustment.

Consult your installation manual to ensure you have the proper diameter gas line and so not use any flexible gas pipe .

Yes, yo cannot "dry fire" a water heater. There are several safety measures in place to prevent this. If you were to successfully "dry fire" your pool heater, you would most likely have to rebuild it again.

Heater goes on for about 30second and goes off and the lights goes on services heater

Heater is probably not coming on. What you hear running for about 30 seconds is the blower. After they blower comes on you should hear a obvious click. That is the igniter coming on. If you don't hear the click you have an electrical problem. If you do hear the click then either the heater is not getting gas - check the valves inside and outside the heater - or the flame sensor is not working correctly.

Good Luck

Furnace howls when burner lights for 30 or so seconds then is fine has a nice blue even flame.works fine other then the loud howling noise when burner lights.

Hi, the howling you describe is pretty common as gas heaters first come on. NG or LP gas is delivered at a pressure much higher than appliances actually use, step down regulators lower the pressure as the gas flows. So, when you first turn your heater on, the pressure is a little high until the flow causes an equalization of pressure. You could contact your gas supplier and ask them to check your pressure and tell them you suspect a building regulator. If the pressure were to build too high it could cause leaks or damage the appliance controls.  Good luck.

Service heater light is on. The heater starts, runs for 20 second and then sounds like the gas turns off. The blower still runs. The unit is not heating. It is very cold here today. 20 degrees outside.

This could be a problem with your exaust or the sensor in it. You also have a negetave pressure sensor on this heater for cabnit air. This is wheren I would start then check all wire connections and your ignition module.
