SOURCE: hoover spin scrub bristles not spinning

I have had two of these... both broken. The handle and tank on one and this one today seems to have lost a belt or gear between the brushes and the motor. The brush assembly seems to spin as it should by hand. Slight tension from pushing what sounds like some gears around. Can't open it up to see whats in there but my guess is a belt between the motor and gears on the brushes. But no entry equals trash. My origonal idea of buying the same unit for spare parts has become a waste of time, money and effort. I wonder if Dyson has jumped into this market yet?

SOURCE: Square hole will not turn on my Hoover F7210-900

You have to take the top cover off, turn unit over and from the bottom, remove the screws, 2 of them will be long, they hold the turbine down. Turn it back over and removethe cover. There 2 more screws at the front of the turbine (#23 and the hoses attached to it. Then it will come off.

Take out the screws from the bottom, there will 2 longer ones, they got into the turbine, turn it upright and take the top cover off. The turbine sits near the front, center, remove the 2 screws on the front of it, remove the hoses, then you can remove the turbine(#23).

SOURCE: hoover brushes wont turn

Is the shaft on the brush block or did it break off, if it did, replace the brush block. On the top, left rear corner is a lever that moves baack or forward depending on the handle being upright or tilted back for usuage. Is it moving? If not then you have a problem there. Otherwise if the square hole doesn't move when it is turned on, and the lever is switch to the on position, then replace the turbine.

SOURCE: hoover turbine replacement

first you must remove the dirty water tank then the nozzle window on top of the machine. (this is the clear piece that the dirty water is sucked through.) then remove all 8 screws from the bottom along with the 1 screw on the main housing. after all this the top housing will be snapped into the base at two spots in the rear of the upper housing. when these are loose the housing should be out. you will find the turbine in the front along with 2 more screws and 2 hoses that also must come off. attach new part and reassemble.
good luck!!!

The brushes on my Hoover steam spin carpet cleaner will not spin.

Hello, their is two reason why the brushes don't spin, one would be the brush brock is broken, take out the brush, and mnake sure their is a plastic two inch shaft sticking out, if not, then the brush block needs to be replaced, if fine, the the turbine is frozen and will need to be replaced, take the lid off and replace the black turbine, I can send you anything you need, or if you have any questions feel free to call 1561-848-3387 Thank you, Teresa.

The brushes won't turn. I have turned the switch

The brushes are turning by an air driven turbine. The turbine has a pivot bushing made of steel inside of it that gets rusty because of the water that is running through it. The turbine gear will have to be replaced. You can access the turbine gear by removing the hood. You can find a genuine hoover replacement part by following the link below. Just find the model number of your Hoover Steam vac.

Brushes wont turn

Remove the brush block, turn the unit on its side and watch the square hole to see if it rotates. If not, then the turbine(#23) isn't working, if it is, then is the shaft on top of the brush block broke off, if it is, replace the brush block.

Brushes do not turn

Check the brush block to see if the shaft that goes into the turbine broke off, replace brush block if it did. If ok, then the turbine may be clogged up, either clean it out or replace the turbine.

Spin brush not working anymore.

Is the shaft still on the brush block, if it broke off, then replace the block. if it is ok, then the turbine(#13) is most likely the problem. It is what drives the brushs. You may be able to take the turbine apart and clean it, if that doesn't work the replace it.

Hoover cleaner model f5865-900

There is no belt, either the turbine part #43191003, or the brush block, the shaft that goes up into the turbine broke off part #48437022. The turbine is what drives the brushes.

Spin Scrub Brushes won't turn

If the brushes quit spinning, either the brush block shaft that goes into the turbine broke off, or the turbine is bad. This unit is tricky to take apart and then put back together again. But pull the brush asm off, then start taking out screws. But if after you pull off the brush block, look up where you will see a small square hole, turn unit on and if not turning, usually the turbine is the cause and will have to be replaced.
