1/4 jacks are universal for the most part.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

You'll need an interface for your computer. An interface takes your microphone or mixer signal and transfers it via usb or firewire to the computer so the software recognizes the signal. There are many available and most come with software.

Try to find an interface that will include full-version software, not a demo. Some interfaces have issues with Vista, just check with your local store of choice to make sure it will work. One of my favorites is the Tapco Link.USB which includes a full-version of software with a pretty simple interface.

Good luck!

Peavey sp2xt speakers horn makes no sound when plugged into normal input. Horn works fine when plugged into the high side of the crossover.

High side speaker input jack defective, as they are switch also and if you plug the wire from the amp in full range and no hf sound but connecting directly to the bi-amp hi does, then your female 1/4 plug at crossover is defective for sure.

How do I fix the plastic jack inside the speaker? It seems loose, yet it connects fine, but still doesn't work. The wiring is fine.

Open the speaker and either secure the jack or replace it if it is broken... common problem when cables get tripped over.

When the Peavey is turned on, the power LED and the 5 channel LEDs blink a number of times but other than that, nothing happens.

This MIGHT be a service manual for the amp portion of your unit:

Hopefully you can find a suitable service agency to repair this... If under warranty, take advantage of the warranty.

I feel like a dork asking this question but how do you connect the amplifier to your mixer. I see that there are places for a banna plug however my mixer will not take a 1/4 banna plug.

In case you don't have one, here is a link to the manual:http://www.peavey.com/assets/literature/manuals/80300573.pdf I don't know if you are using a separate crossover between the mixer and the amp but here is the simplest explanation.I just reread your question and I don't even know whether you have a Peavey amp. Run proper cables from the main output of your mixer to the main inputs of your power amp. They will be 1/4"shielded cables or Balanced XLR cables. Do not use unshielded speaker cables to hook the mixer and the amp together.Run speaker cables from the speaker outputs of the amp to the input jacks of your speakers.Make sure the impedance of your speaker cabinets equals or exceeds the impedance rating marked on your amp. Here is the link to the newer model PV2600 manual:http://www.sweetwater.com/store/media/pv2600_doc_manual.pdf Don't use Speakon cables unless your speaker cabinets are equipped with Speakon input jacks. Banana plugs aren't as solid a connection as the binding posts are.

Yes, use balanced cable to the PA system and use a DI at the computer end.

The DI is known as a "direct box" or "direct input" and converts the UNBALANCED computer output to balanced to send toe the PA system.

Low volume from CD and iPod input

in audio system you have three different levels.
1-mic level which is very small output level.
2-line level(like cd player output)which is higher than above.
3-speaker level is highest one which drive speaker and get sound out from it.
if you want to get control for number 1 and 2 you can use very simple sound mixer.(from radio shack-or other electronic store)
connect your sound source(mic-cdplayer)to the mixer and get out from mixer to amplifier.
