Question about Brother IntelliFax-4100e Fax
I have a Brother IntelliFAX 4100e and it says on LCD "printing, online", however it doesn't print anything and won't send anything out. I have tried unplugging it and after I did that and plugged it back in, one fax came through. However, nothing else is coming through. Any suggestions? Thanks.
I have a fax machine with the sam problem, what i did to resolve the issue was removed the 3 screws and removed the back cover, disconected the battery then removed the cover over the parallel port. I then disconected the 5 connectors on the right towards the rear of the printer 4 white 1 red, reconnected the printer to power with the connectors disconnected, then after 30 seconds i unplugged the printer reconnected the cables and it worked, has failed since

I tried the solution above, posted by HectorHenry, and it seems to have worked like a charm. Thank you!
Just to recap:
Unplug the fax machine.
Remove the back panel from the 4100e which covers the parallel port. This consists of 3 philips screws.
You should see a battery pack sitting right there with a little connector on it, just unplug that.
Then remove the metal casing which is covering the parallel port and circuit board - this is about 8 screws, also philips head, but a bit smaller. There are really two pieces of sheet metal that comprise the cover, feel free to slide both of them out.
Towards the right of the board, near the end where you're working, you'll see white connectors of various sizes - four of them. You'll also see one red connector. All the cables were white in my case, so pay attention to the connector color. Disconnect all five of these connectors.
Plug the power cord back into the fax for about 30 seconds. After that, unplug it again.
Reconnect all your connectors and the battery. Plug the fax machine in and test it. It should be working.
If so, just screw everything back together. If not, try one more time and leave everything disconnected for a few minutes.
If for some reason this does not fix the problem I suspect you have a different problem altogether... In reality I think you may only need to unplug the battery pack, but I tried all the steps above just to be certain.
