Get some starting fluid and CAREFULLY spray a tiny bit in various areas around the manifold, air intake area - when you hit the leak, the engine speed will increase.
This sounds like wind noise. Try to find the air leak by mixing up some really soapy water , start your car and turn on the heat on high. Wash the car with the soapy water paying close attention to areas around doors and windows. If you see air bubbles growing, or foaming this is most likely your air leak.Check the seals around this area for cracks or damage.
Air leaking around the trigger area could be caused by vinyl ball / gasket under trigger valve bushing or orings within the gun. Easy test, remove nails and connect air (assuming that air is now leaking around the trigger area). Depressing the trigger stops the leak, replace vinyl ball. Depressing trigger does not stop leak, move plunger b (plunger B, small shaft under bubber bushing next to the trigger valve) with your finger in then out to determine if air leak changes tone. If air leak changes sound or tone, then air is leaking past orings of the cylinder guide and/or cylinder plate and/ or the cylinder itself is scratched by debris where the orings make contact. Pull out the cylinder and examine the contact areas. If scratched, use 300 grit paper to smooth, if smooth, however, suspect the orings of cylinder guide (or cylinder guide is cracked). The cylinder guide is difficult to remove and install without causing damage to guide or cutting new orings when installing. Do not remove the guide unless all the other options have been checked. One last bit if information, I have noticed that some guns will leak air if the orings on the feeder piston do not fit snuggly. Make sure that leaking sound is not coming from feeder area (remove the basket and feeder/feeder pin/spring and pull out the feed piston, making sure that the largest oring is making good contact within the cylinder). Good luck with repair.
could be leaking at the top radiator hose going to thermostat, that is a hard spot to see leak remove the air filter and air filter housing look below throttle body you see thermostat housing, check for leaks around thermostat housing gasket and check for leak at the top radiator hose going to radiator and thermostat.if all is good check all radiator hoses for leaks check small coolant lines going to throttle body for leaks and check make sure bleeder screw on thermostat housing not loose it will leak also check around radiator and water pump heater bypass metal lines for leaks.
When you purchase an air
mattress, it will most likely come with a patch kit, including some material,
glue, and a small piece of sandpaper.
Use the sandpaper to roughen up the area around the leak; which will
help the glue stick better. Then make a
circle with the glue around the leaking area and cover with the provided
material. Make sure to press firmly when
attaching the material to ensure that it holds in place.
IF YOU CHANGED THE FILTER AND GOT WATER OUT THE DISPENSOR AND HAD A RUSH OF AIR COME OUT OF THE LINE. YOU MAY HAVE GOT WATER UNDER THE DRIP TRAY. WATER WILL THEN COME AROUND AND APPEAR THAT THE DISPENSOR IS LEAKING. OR YOU MAY HAVE NOT PURGED ALL OF THE AIR. LET ME KNOW.
You are right. It is air leaking. You either have a vacuum line off the engine, or a leaking gasket in the intake manifold area. It could also be your PVC valve is out of it's grommet in the valve cover. You can locate the leak with the car running by using a mechanic's stethoscope. Just use it WITHOUT the metal pickup rod and diaphragm. Probe the open tube end around areas that sound like they leak or whistle. You can also use a can of carb spray. Just carefully spray around gasket surfaces and when the engine rpm raises, you've found it. Be very careful around a hot engine so you don't start a fire using this method.
you didnt get the snorkel put back on correctly..look for KnN to be sticking out of air box a little causing air leak... hose (snorkel) not seated all the way around or clamped properly at air cleaner or throttle body.. or perhaps you caused a crack in it ..spray carb cleaner around those areas while at idle .. engine will change personality when you find leak area...good luck
hi common fault on these is the oil switch oil runs down the block around the oil filter and down the sump as you are driving along the air draft blows it all over the place so clean it up run the engine and from underneath the car see where it is coming from the only other things on the sump that would leak are the sump plug washer and the crankshaft main oil seal at the rear of the engine it will be the switch best of luck paul
