My whirlpool dryer comes on and runs good but it wont get hot can you tell me whats the problem

Hello there and welcome to fixya there are several things that could make this dryer not heat up
Here are the most common things

Thermal Fuse

If the dryer doesn\'t heat, but the drum
turns, check the thermal fuse(s). The thermal fuse protects the dryer
from overheating and helps to prevent fires. If the thermal fuse is
blown, it will have to be replaced.

Enter your model number to see parts for your dryer.

Help me find my model number

Gas Valve Solenoid

The gas valve has two or more electric
solenoids which open the valve to let the gas flow into the burner
assembly. If the dryer doesn\'t heat one or more of the solenoids may be
defective. If the igniter glows for 90 seconds but the burner flame
doesn\'t light, replace these coils as a set.

Dryer Igniter

If the dryer doesn\'t heat, the igniter might
be burned out. Check the igniter for continuity with an ohm meter. Dryer
igniters burn out over time, similar to a light bulb.

Heating Element

The heating element on an electric dryer can
burn out over time. If the dryer doesn\'t heat, the element should be
checked for continuity. The heating element cannot be repaired and must
be replaced if defective.

Heating Element Assembly

the heating element assembly on an electric
dryer can burn out over time. If the dryer doesn\'t heat, the element
assembly should be checked for continuity. The heating element assembly
cannot be repaired and must be replaced if defective.

Flame Sensor

Gas dryers have a flame sensor to detect the
heat given off by the flame. If the dryer doesn\'t heat, the flame sensor
might be defective. Check the flame sensor for continuity. This is not
as common as a burned out igniter or thermal fuse.

High Limit Thermostat

Although not common, if the dryer doesn\'t
heat the high limit thermostat can be defective. It can be checked for
continuity. If the thermostat is "open" the dryer doesn\'t heat.

Cycling Thermostat

The cycling thermostat regulates the
temperature of the air in the dryer. If the dryer doesn\'t heat it may be
caused by a defective cycling thermostat. This is not common.

Main Control Board

The main control board is normally not at
fault when the dryer doesn\'t heat. Check all of the other components in
this troubleshooting guide before replacing the main control board. The
main control board cannot be tested easily and must be replaced if it is
defective.

Timer
The timer is normally not at fault if the
dryer doesn\'t heat. In many situations where timers are replaced they
end up being returned. Check all of the more common components in this
troubleshooting guide before replacing the timer

Temperature needle stays on the hot , have changed temperature sensor but it still stays on the hot and the engine is not overheating or leaking anything..what is making it stay on the hot

replace the thermostat,, and make sure that the fan engages , just because the fluids don't boil over doesn't mean the temp isn't to high, if your saying that the temp gauge is stuck on the hot setting, and doesn't move even when the car is cold,, thats a different problem,, if thats the case whats the make , model , and year

My KUDS011JBSO undercounter dishwasher is blinking the normal wash light. What do I need to look for to fix this?

Hi

If light is blinking then it may be an issue with heater circuit, door switch or the thermal fuse, please reset the power to the dishwasher. After, 5 minutes check if you are still getting the same error. If yes, then it is a water heating fault. To resolve this error try pressing this reset sequence-- Heat Dry - Normal - Heat Dry - Normal or High Temp - Air Dry - High Temp - Air Dry or Hi Temp Scrub, energy saver dry, Hi Temp Scrub, energy saver dry or High Temp Wash-Heated Dry-High Temp Wash-Heated Dry. Now let the unit run for 2-3 minutes and then you press the Cancel/Drain button and allow it to completely drain and reset. If this doesn't work then it's an issue with the thermal fuse located on the control or the door switch that is bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

Put new thermal limiting switch, thermal fuse and heating element in my whirlpool estate elec. dryer. it will not get hot still is there something i,m missing?

their are several possibilities

1) check breaker and or fuse to be supplying 240 volts to the dryer, even though the breaker seems to be on a internal burned out breaker will appear to be set but 240 vac not at dryer

2) check were the cord connects to back of dryer that one on the legs hasnt burnt and only 120 vac to dryer instead or required 240 vac

3)depending on your model i dont know if you have a timer or computer control but it isn't sending power to the element

4) the motor switch could be defective, all dryers are required by law to have a built in safety that assures the dryer will not heat when it isn't running to do that all dryers have a switch built into the motor that will only send power to the element once its running

5) in addation to the high limit t-stat and thermal fuse all dryers (depending on model) have a cycling t-stat or thermistor that controls the normal operating temp (the high limit and thermal fuse only come in to play when a dryer overheats) that could be defective

My Kenmore 110.66962501 dryer doesn't start.

If the door switch or the door-switch actuator is defective, the dryer won't work and you need to replace the failed component. The switch is inside the dryer main housing near the door frame. Sometimes you need to raise or open the top or front of the dryer to reach the switch. On many dryers, there's a thermal fuse (a heat-sensitive fuse that blows if the dryer overheats) mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. The fuse is about an inch long. It's usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing.

Fridgidaire dryer aeq6000es. won't start, beeps 3 times with error message dr

Hello
This code means the dryer door is not closed or the door safety switch is not making a good connection at times. The dryer door safety switch is in the opening of the door and when the door is closed the switch button is depressed. If the control circuit board doesn't get a signal that the dryer door switch is closed it will not allow the dryer to start.. Try firmly closing the dryer door a 2nd time when this happens, if that cures the problem you are good to go, if that doesn't cure the issue you must remove the front panel of the dryer and replace the switch. If you need a switch they are available from Sears Direct for about $15.00 Below is a picture of the switch that most likely used in your model and make, the button on top is what the dryer door depresses when closed..

06 Kia Sedona overheats when ac is on. If the ac is off the van will return to normal temps. Had the compressor just replaced and v-belt. Both fans appear to be running when ac is on.

Does the engine over heat or the gauge goes to hot. Really hot. Since the A/C is on , this puts an extra load on the engine. This is why the fans come on when the A/C is turned on. This is usually low speed fan mode. High speed doesn't come on untilll 220 to 230 degrees. Most vehicles. Cars don't over heat untill the gauge gets in the red, when it starts getting close is time to worry and stop. I guess the question to you would be, What does the temp gauge read?

Thermal cut-off blows and high limit thermostat is working with vent clean.Replaced thermal cut-off, high limit thermostat and heating element. Still blows thermal cut-off.

Any time a thermal cut off blows, it's because the cycling thermostat is bad. When it's bad, the machine cycles off of the thermal cut off rather than the cycling thermostat allowing the dryer to over heat. The thermal cut off is a re-setting safety and is not made to cycle off of. The thermostat you are looking for looks like a high limit thermostat but it cuts power to the element at a lower temp. Around 158 degrees + or - 25 degrees. It's located close to the high limit. It's a normally closed switch that opens on the rise and it will show closed now but the problem with it is that will not open. Replace it and your problem will be solved. Good luck.
