The only way a motor will run backwards is if the motor gets wired wrong.

all motors turn clockwise.

SOURCE: I have a hot tub with three bad motors. The

It's very unusual that 3 motors would go bad at the same time. I'd be more inclined to suspect the controls. Also, it's possible that if the unit is supplied by 240 volts that you may have lost one leg. Losing one leg could still enable the controls, since they are usually 120 volt, but none of the motors would run if they are 240 volt.
You can disconnect the motors and try to run them from a temporary line, too. Might save you some $.

SOURCE: qca hot tub pump not turning on

Thats right, hottubbob has got it. Either the pump works or it doesnt. First it is important to know if there is a voltage (most likely 120V) present for the pump. Then what does the pump do? Hum or nothing? If there is a voltage to the pump, wiring or pump is the issue. If there is no voltage at the pump, then is the spa getting power at all? It really is about isolating what component is causing the issue.

Have VS501 (NEW) the Control panel at pool top does not display. Also the Blower control turns on the light. Seems like the light control wants to switch between low and high on pump. When I ourchased I also got a 25 foot extension cable for the control panel (only needed 6 more feet) could this be causing part of the problem with the extended cable being to long?

Was the pump working prior to the cleaning or had it been sitting dormant? The motor relies on a starting circuit within it to operate. One of the components can be bad or the pump can be siezed up.

Turn off the power and remove the back cover from the motor. Try to turn the shaft by hand. Is it free to turn? If so, the problem is inside the motor. If not, look for the obstrction.

Motor siezed up and will not restart.

Find a local electric motor repair shop and see if the motor is repairable. If not, a new motor and possibly the pump will be required.
