Avaya 5610 SW IP phone extension Login

I am adding another phone to our system. I have set up the user and the extension. When I plug in the phone I know I have to tell it what extension it is. I press "Login" and enter the new extension "345#", then press next. when I set up the ones in use I didn't enter a password just pressed "done" but I get the word "INVALID". I think there may be a default password. Does anyone know what it is? How to solve the issue? Thanks.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
New users get 2 Free calls (no credit card required) and instant help on almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, appliances, handyman, and even pets).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

SOURCE: Avaya assighning New static IP address after IP address conflict

If you need to reconfigure the phone press "mute"RESET# where the alphabets correspond to the digits button they appear against on phone. E.g. for R press 7... and so on ..... then the phone will ask reset values? press # to reset and reboot the phone. Then key in the correct IP address for phone .... call server IP address ... router .. files server .... VLAN ID etc ....

If all the settings are done correctly ... and if the phone gets the reach ability to the call server it will work fine...

if you are unsure of these settings.... go to the menu and network options of any working phone and get the correct values from there

SOURCE: How to configure Avaya's IP Phone 5610?

Ensure the reachability of the call server from that port. To ensure the same, configure a laptop with the IP address and default gateway of the intended IP phone. Then try pinging the call server from the laptop.

If this works then the setting should work for IP phone too. Double check on the router IP address and Vlan ID configured on the phone.

How to change phone extentsions

You are basically setting up what extension teh phone is to use. Now you need to tell teh extension what user is going to use it.
If the phone says, no user, then there should be a login button. If there is not, contact the admin person so they can program one.

Reboot the phone to grab a new DHCP address. If it still does that, then something else has that IP, and the phone has a static as well, so teh phones IP will need to change.

Dial tone, can be called, hear caller, but caller cann't hear me.

The problem is likely either a conflict in compression or a speech path problem.

In Manager, is "Allow Direct Media Path" checked?
If so uncheck and reboot eh phone system, then reboot the remote phone.
