Question about HP Officejet 6500 Wireless All-in-One InkJet Printer

I have an HP officejet 6500 E709n it is not responding anymore! doesn t turn off, or accept the wireless.can you help me ? yossi.m@skynet.be

It does print with the usb cable connected, but all bottons are jamed.

Yes I will tell you why Kodak photo paper is a little thicker in size and you should not get this same error message if you use hp photo paper or regular photo paper.See of this helps.....

Issue The Out of Paper message appears on the computer and the product stops picking up or feeding paper. Solution Step one: Reset the product

  1. Without turning the product off, remove the power cord from the back of the product.
  2. Wait 30 seconds and then plug the power cord into the back of the product.
  3. If the product is not already on, use the On button to turn it on.
Step two: Check the condition of the paper and reload it
  1. Replace any paper that is ripped, dusty, curled, wrinkled, or bent.
  2. Make sure that all the paper is the same size and type. Because only one type of paper can be used in the product at a time, paper types should never be mixed.
  3. Tap the stack of paper on a flat surface to align the edges.
  4. Make sure that the stack of paper to be loaded in the product contains no fewer than 10 and no more than 25 sheets of paper.
    NOTE: Do not load too much paper in the product.
  5. Insert the stack of paper into the product and gently push the paper guides snugly against the paper. Make sure that the paper is completely inserted into the product and can be picked up by the paper rollers.
  6. Try printing again. If the issue is not resolved, try loading different brands of paper and different types of paper, one type at a time, into the product and then try printing again.If the issue persists, continue with the next step.
Step three: Adjust the paper settings in the print driver The paper settings in the print driver must match the paper settings for at least one of the installed paper trays.
  1. Open a document in the program being used to print.
  2. Click File , click Print , and then click Properties . The product Properties dialog box appears.
  3. Click the Paper/Quality tab.
  4. Choose the appropriate paper size from the Size is drop-down menu.
  5. Choose the appropriate paper type from the Type is drop-down menu.
  6. Click OK and then click OK again to print the document..
  7. If the issue is not resolved, continue with the next step.
Step four: Clean the rollers
  1. Turn off the product and unplug the power cord.
  2. Open the access door to gain access to the rollers. Depending on the model, this is usually the rear access door. See the product user guide for information about locating the rollers.
  3. Clean the rubber rollers with a lint-free cloth, lightly moistened with water.
  4. Make sure that any paper rollers that rest on the input tray, which are located behind the back rollers, are cleaned. A clean cotton swab, lightly moistened with water, might be necessary to reach these rollers.
  5. Close the access door and plug in the power cord.
  6. Try printing again. If the issue is not resolved, continue to the next step.
Step five: Service the product If you have completed all the steps listed above and are still experiencing a problem, service the product. CauseAny of the following issues can cause the error message to appear:
  • The paper trays are empty or overloaded.
  • The paper is curled.
  • The print side, or shiny side, of the paper is not loaded in the input tray face down.
  • The paper might not be engaged with the feed rollers.
  • The paper-width guide is pressed against the paper stack too tightly.
  • The paper tray is not completely inserted into the product.
  • The paper settings in the print driver do not match the paper loaded in the paper tray.
  • The rubber paper-feed rollers are coated with dust.

SOURCE: Cannot coonect SCANNER (HP Officejet 6500 wireless) to my Windows

I have seen alot of problem/posts concerning HP AIO's and software issues. Typically some of the functions won't work or not recognized by solution center. Try a complete uninstall of all associated printer software, run registry cleaner if you have it, restart, then try completely uninstalling your Antivirus/firewall software. I have seen that just disabling Antivirus/firewall still causes faulty installations. Now, reinstall your printer software/drivers and connect cables only when told to do so. Some reason the AV/FW software blocks some of the AIO's apps from completely installing.

Printing via WiFi can be very very slow especially on large Pictures and Documents. You can try to process/spool the print job on the Host machine, make sure you have lots and lots of RAM, lots of HDD space too.If the Printer can accept RAM then upgrade that too..to as much as you can fit on-board, both PC & printer if applicable.
WiFi is slow because the speed of the WiFi network isn't that high in any event. and the further you are away from the printer also affects how fast it will print too.
Make sure you have a good line of sight between the antennas, you could also try a Directional antenna to increase throughput, even just using a "Booster" antennas will make a difference too. If you can adjust you output power on your WiFi then set this Up too. make sure you do not have anything that can interfere with the WiFi signal, try moving the printer around to differing places, sometimes just moving it 6" to the right, as it were, can dramatically increase throughput so try that too.
Using the "N" standard also will help with throughput, if the printer is capable of using the "N" standard.. as will any of the higher throughput WiFi Cards and Dongles, It may even pay sometimes to obtain a higher powered USB WiFi Card/Dongle and use that instead of the one you are using now.

Hi. To reset an HP Officejet 6500 E709a or 6500 Wireless E709n, follow these simple steps:
1. Press the (*) and (#) buttons on the printer control panel at the same time and let go.
2. Use right and left arrows to scroll trhough menu and select "Resets"
3. Select "Semi-Full" reset and printer will shut off in a few seconds.
4. Unplug the printer from wall and wait 30 seconds.
5. Plug in the printer, Turn printer on and selec basic settings.
Your printer is now reset!!!

My HP Officejet 6500 Wireless printer won't print in black when trying to print from Microsoft Office Word and Microsoft Office Excel or PDF. The ink cartridge is new. I have turned the printer off and...


I also have the OfficeJet 6500 and had the same problem. The black text was printing using a mix of colored inks instead of the black ink, resulting in a grey, fuzzy text. I finally found a solution. In each application under Page Setup, there is an option called "Format for". Mine had been set to "Any Printer". I changed that to "Officejet 6500 E709n [830E4A]" and now it prints the black just fine. I have a Mac running 10.4.11. Hope this helps.

I just bought a new HP Officejet 6500 Wireless All-in-One Printer - E709n. When I try to scan, it tells me I have no scan options. What do I do?


If you're using Vista, I had the same problem. To scan, go to MS Paint and choose "file" and "from scanner or camera" then save the file it scans. That worked well for me, as a go-around for Vista. Hope this helps! Lisa

Can we have a different phone number for the fax on the Officejet 6500 E709n ???


You can provide or connect telephone services with different telephone numbers or more as anything you want but for your HP Office Jet 6500 i think not yet program to do that.
Unless on your telephone services have splitter or switch with different line, it's yes!
This printer is only one telephone port.
