After researching the problem power from power board to diode board had the 5 volt, the problem was in the soldier, from post to circuit, on the power board, when circuit was suppose to energize it failed due to a faulty soldier. I believe this to occur in most older units, from heating and cooling of the circuit with vibration or sudden impact. Thanks for lookin this problem solved.

Hi!

Try to check the power at all the capacitors, if you have power at all caps, you should be having power on +/- of power transistors. can you check that?

If this is the unit I think it is, then there is an amp pac inside marked STK0029. This part is probably defective. This will kick in the protection circuit and prevent the unit from powering up completely. This part is no longer available unfortunately. This was a good receiver in its day.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Offhand, postback the brand and model.

Initially, with a continuity tester, determine the primary winding of the transformer (if it uses one). Determine if it is a multiple voltage version with selector switch. Trace the secondary to the diode/capacitor board and likewise check for the +/- voltages.

Alternately, if it uses SMPS, determine if there is DCV at the primary side and if there is standby +5VDC.

Pls post back result(s). Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

NAD Electronics 7020e 4A fuse keeps blowing on power up

Well you are on the right course. I suspect you think the problem is in the power supply and it's probably not. I think that what's gone is either a transistor (or more) or an IC amp - if it uses one - on the main power amp stage. Look at the devices on the heat sink. I think that's where you will find your shorted device.

Fuses keep blowing on my Samson Servo 120a

If after putting in the right rating of fuse you have a blow out, then you must diconnect the speakers and test. If the fuse hold ok then the speakers must be checked for shorting or fault in the network. However if the fuse still blows off, then you will need to take out the cover to test within the main board for the power section or output section malfunctioning. First of all discconnect the power to the output stages and test, if fuses blows check the powersuppy section, the rectifier to the main capacitors for reduced values. If not check on the output stages, the drivers, the predrivers for malfunctioning. However you will need some knowledge of electronics to probe stage by stage to isolate the fault. If not get help to proceed. Good day

Power indicator open but no function audio,as well as selector my unit is an aiwa nsx k880 stereo

To start with you will have to check on the power supply for the fuses, the fusible resistors on the various sub power section near the main transformer. If OK proceed to see the recitifed DC , the supply to the main controller IC the microprocessor in the front panel. You will need some basic electronics to check for the +5 volt to the mP and confirrm if it is working. replace only if confident or get help. If this section is OK then proceed to the mode selector IC to the output IC. This may require some good technical support to prevent further damage by tampering so please check this out. Good day

I recently purchased a Pioneer SC-07 in North America(110v/60Hz) and need to convert it to use in Australia (240/50Hz) Am I able to purchase power supply to make this happen?

You need to locate a power converter. This is basically a trqansformer that will convert the 240V system into a 110V system. These are generally available anywhere where travel supplies are sold. You can also contact Pioneer and see if they have a conversion kit which would require the replacement or alteration of the internal transformer on the unit.

I have a TEAC 500 amp. It just cut out when I was listening to music. Now there appears to be no power (unit does not light up), but the power outlet sockets are still powering the other components - so...

More than likely, the internal regulated power supply has gone bad. The power outlets going out are usually just straight wired from the incoming power source, and not run through the power supply. Good luck!

I have a Pioneer Power amplifier which stopped working suddenly. I opened it and I don't see any damage or burned surfaces. It has accumulated somewhat dust, but somewhat told me not to vaccum it. Please...

the dead power could be a fuse either on your plug or at the back of the unit is a small round cap where the fuse is for the unit try repalcing these first. you can vac the unit only you need a vac with a rubber hose only on the end and use a light soft paint brush to get the dust off. it caould be there is thermistor temp sensor that click off vac out first with the unit disconnected from power and check the fuses .. let me know if this works as I might have a manual somewhere for it. Good Luck A

No power on a Pioneer A-77X Amplifier

The unit is probably in protect mode. Do you have any electronics repair experience? If so, we may be able to work through this. Let me know and we will try a few things. You will need a multi-meter at a minimum.
