After researching the problem power from power board to diode board had the 5 volt, the problem was in the soldier, from post to circuit, on the power board, when circuit was suppose to energize it failed due to a faulty soldier. I believe this to occur in most older units, from heating and cooling of the circuit with vibration or sudden impact. Thanks for lookin this problem solved.

Hi!

Try to check the power at all the capacitors, if you have power at all caps, you should be having power on +/- of power transistors. can you check that?

If this is the unit I think it is, then there is an amp pac inside marked STK0029. This part is probably defective. This will kick in the protection circuit and prevent the unit from powering up completely. This part is no longer available unfortunately. This was a good receiver in its day.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Offhand, postback the brand and model.

Initially, with a continuity tester, determine the primary winding of the transformer (if it uses one). Determine if it is a multiple voltage version with selector switch. Trace the secondary to the diode/capacitor board and likewise check for the +/- voltages.

Alternately, if it uses SMPS, determine if there is DCV at the primary side and if there is standby +5VDC.

Pls post back result(s). Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

My microwave shows nothing on display and will not turn on

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
First check is the main fuse of the unit. On countertop units, you will need to take the shell off. The fuse will be close to where the cord comes through into the unit. OTR units, this main fuse is usually behind the control panel or possibly behind the vent. Usually the fuse is obvious if blown, otherwise test with an OHM meter, if open, replace fuse.
Some brands will also have a thermal cut-off fuse in the incoming voltage line to the control board. Older Maytags and Samsungs have this fuse in it. This thermostat looking fuse is usually above the oven cavity somewhere under the outside shell. Sometimes you can get to it through the vent of OTR models. Test with an OHM meter, replace if open.

Tip

Mircorwave Repair

When a microwave works normally but just doesn't heat, then this is a faulty magnetron. A replacement can be purchased at repairclinic.com or partselect.com which shows a picture of the magnetron, how to replace it and option to purchase it as well.
If the microwave is not getting power, then first remove the outside shell, then check the glass bus fuse. Make sure the thin wire inside the glass fuse reaches all the way across the fuse and is not broken. If fuse looks good, but still no power, Use a voltmeter and check the power from the power supply to the main circuitry board and make sure it is getting the correct amount of power. There is usually a label on the microwave that tells the DC voltage output.

My cigarette lighter blows the fuse. I am replacing it. I have everything out but the lighter shell. What's the secret?

its a two part piece. unplug the power source to the unit, from behind the dash grab the shell and it unscrews off the inner piece that holds it to the dash.I use a needle nose pliar to hold the inner shell. If you have a new one unscrew the two pieces and it will help you understand the operation of it

I have a Samsung 40" lcd model LN40A53OP1FX2A

Could be,might not also, any things on the power supply board could be burn and dies, when it getting to much electricity current to it.Dead or dying capacitors on the power supply board are alway bulges or puffing up on it tops.Check the power supply board carefully look at all the capacitors parts,if require replacing,u must have tools like a soldering iron,a desoldering pump or a roll of desoldering braid,a roll of solders, also u must know basic soldering understand basic electronic to do it.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

1000 volt jump start placed incorrectly

Your system probably has a lot of relays and other electronics that are bad now. Your Electronic Control Unit (ECU) may be cooked as well. You may also have a fusable link that has been blown as well. The fusable link is basicly an in-line fuse that you have to replace the wire to replace the fuse. Get a wiring schematic and look to see if theres a fuse or similar that you misssed. You may find that you dont have power going to all or part of one of your fuse panels.

Hope this helps...

Mine stereo will not turn on when i plug it in.

A blown fuse is a result of a failed component it electronic circuits. Replacing the fuse wont do no good. I fix television, and I wish I could show you how, but it has too many terminology, and rquires at least basic electronic understanding. Electronic device are the only thing a really good handy man can't fix. They are extremely complicated.

Dead printer?

I assume the transformer has 2 wires coming out of it. My guess is that the wire from the transformer is working however the wire leading from the Transformer to the printer is not.

You may need to purchase another power unit.
But on the bright side, a transformer is cheaper than a new printer.
:)

Hope this helps.

No power

You mentioned taking the "buttons" off. That may not give you complete access to the units motherboard or power supply area. Unplug the unit and remove the outside cover. Look for a blown fuse on the motherboard or power supply. Replace it with the EXACT value of the original fuse. You can purchase a new fuse at Radio Shack or hardware store or auto parts store. Try powering up the unit again and see if it works now or whether the fuse blows again. If it blows again, the power supply may have been damaged.
