When you power on the wii fit board, does the light flash continuously? If so, you will need to sync your board with your wii again. You can get instructions on how to do so here:

Says "system unable to read disc" etc. this is happening with all discs. Is there anyway to clean the console - or does it just need repair?

If you open the case on your WII your warrenty (if you still have one) will be void, you can purchase cd cleaning disks from radioshack. Simply put the disk in and listen for the music, it will clean the eye and hopefully that will solve your problem. if that dose not do the trick your probably looking at a bad drive motor (spins the disk) and it will need repair.

Make sure that you have synced the board to the wii (similar to a controller). You have to take the battery cover off the board and push the sync button. The blue light will start flashing. From there you need to open the front cover of your wii under the power button.

From there you start up wii fit and it will prompt you to turn on your board. You should get a solid blue light. If you don't, you may need to try syncing again.

    Try these steps!

  1. Insert a Wii Balance Board compatible game disc in the Wii console.

  2. Use the Wii Remote to select the Disc Channel from the Wii Menu, then select "Start" to begin the game. Press the A Button to bypass the wrist strap screen.

  3. Open the small SD Card slot cover on the front of the Wii console.
  4. Remove the Battery Cover on the bottom of the Wii Balance Board.
  5. Press and release the SYNC button on the Wii Balance Board. The blue light on the board will start blinking.
  6. Press and release the red SYNC button on the Wii console while the blue light on the board is still blinking.
  7. The blue light will stop blinking and stay on steady once the syncronization is complete.

Can't Get Started my Wii Fit because CD Can't Be Read

Be sure the disk is clean, and if that does not work, exchange it at the store it was purchased at for a new one. There have been many Wii games shipping with the wrong region CD.

If it only happens to those disks (newer ones) your console may just need to be upgraded. Send it to nintendo and they should do the service for free.
