The monitor is not detecting that it connected to a video card. You did not specify which computer model but if there is only one then you must ensure that the connectors are seated properly. If there is a built-in connector and a add-on video card connector also then make sure that the monitor is connected to the correct connector. When the computer is off there will be a yellow light indicator on the monitor and when the computer is booted it will turn green normally.
If you have another computer, even a laptop you can connect the monitor to that to ensure that the monitor is working and the cable has no bent pins at the connector therefore verifying whether the trouble is at the computer end or monitor. Please repost if you try these steps and still need help.

My Acer S200hl monitor suddenly has horizontal white lines on the screen. It gradually fades from very severe lines on the right side to virtually unnoticalbe lines on the left. Any ideas?

It's dying. Pretty much simply that, something electrical or electronic (connections from panel to panel edge connectors, connection to circuit board, or internal to a panel matrix chip). Very likely unserviceable, if under warranty, take it back for service. Only other thing, check connector under back of monitor (if it has a connector at both ends). It's an Acer monitor, they aren't terribly durable, so if it's more than 2 or 3 years old, it's probably on it's way to deadville.

No input signal flashing, but computer is booting

We need to narrow down the problem first. Let make sure that it is not the problem with the monitor by hooking it up the other PC, or hook up PC to another monitor to see if you still get the same problem with new monitor attached to it. The VGA cable can be bad also.

Monitor is about 2 1/2 years old, so its out of warranty. Display comes on for about 2 seconds then shuts off. When display shuts off, power light also turns off. When its on, display also seems dimmer...

Look for bad caps with bulging top in the power supply first, two years is about the right time for bad caps, see example of failed monitors due to bad caps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

Hi, my TW-191 suddenly quit working yesterday. . . it is only 2 years old? When the PC is first turned on the amber light turns green and the screen is displayed then after a few seconds goes blank....

Hello,

It sounds like you have a monitor with a common problem. After a few years some LCD monitors will blow a power supply. The problem is caused by parts called capacitors overheating in the confined space of the monitor. If you are good at electronics repair/soldering you can usually fix the problem. Check out a few pictures on my web site www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm You can take the back cover off your monitor and look for the bad parts, replace any that look like the pictures and your monitor should work fine. The capacitors do need to be installed with the correct + and - connections, note the stripe on the old one and insert the new one the same way. If you don't want to try the repair yourself we offer a repair service for $35 plus shipping.

I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.

Input not supported

IT sounds like the monitor got fried.. sometimes if the monitor is in the on position as the power comes back, the monitor gets an unexpected sure which can sometime damage the circuitry. You may be out of luck. You're only other option is to try using the monitor on another computer to see if it's just a weird connection issue.

Won't power on. Screen is black.

I have added a sort of solution on this site. The monitor has a 3 years manufacturers warrantee on it. Goodies Enterprise Ltd of Bedford will fix it for 56GBP including shipping. They've just fixed mine and its cheaper than buying a new one. 3 months guarantee on repair.
