I have a Minolta 3730 DN which has an irritating fault to do with paper. When I try to print certain documents such as labels and some internet pages I get a message "Put Media tray 1 A4". There is always plenty of media and opening and closing the drawer does not get rid of the error code. To do this I have to open and shut the righthand cover. However, the same error will come up if I try to print the same document regardless of what I do. Obviously the fault has nothing to do with the media since, if I cancel the job and print a configuarion page or a different document it works perfectly. I have tried changing the default tray in the setup options (that's tray 2 although there is only one tray) and I have tried changing the media from plain paper to thick stock - but nothing works. I presently have some labels on the screen that I can't print - although the machine did print them a few weeks ago.

pleas check the driver settings, maybe there is a setting fit to paper or something.

I turned the printer off, took the power cable out, and turned the printer on. After 60 seconds I turned the printer off, put the power cable back in and turned the printer again on. This is a solution in order to loose all the voltage/current build up in the printer. Whether this is the solution or just coincidental, I don't know. The printer worked well after that.

Mr Stephen You have to check paper settings at 3 places first that you are putting correct paper size in correct tray and the paper supporter is touching the paper. Secondly your documents page setup paper size. Need to set A4 size default on the printer driver itself.
Go to Printers and Faxes / Konica Minolta 2490MF right click/ Printing preferences /
Create a "Easy Set" with a new name. Set all paper sizes to A4. Save the new settings to the new Easy Set.
Click apply.
