You will have great diffculty. If you can't find the original remote get a good quality universal one. But have a look first for the original on somewhere like Curry's Parmaster website.
Depends how you are connecting at the present. If you use a Scart, make certain it's a good one as the pins are easily damaged and can cause loss of picture.
your laser lens is probly dirty ;/ just use a qtips and alcool and gently clean the lens if it not work proper ly may be your laser assembly going out...

Well I have heard that sometimes the tape inside of the videocastettes that show the pictures on the screen wears out over time periods and from rewinding and fastforwarding so many times or the old age and useage so you could get the video castette tapes fixed but its not worth it now you should buy a DVD player because they are better and have less problems and most VHS tapes are on DVD too. Or check to see if any other devices are on at the same time.
try formatting the disc. it will erase everything on the disc and you can start fresh. try this with all the discs.if the problem keeps happening, try new discs.
