Uses the Intel 945GZ motherboard chipset,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_intel_chipsets#Core_2_chipsets

Brought out in the mid 2006.

PCI Express 1.1 technology came out in 2005;
PCI Express 2.0 technology came out in 2007,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PCI_Express#PCI_Express_1.1

Therefore the Gigabyte GA-945GZM-S2 uses the PCI Express 1.1 technology.

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3858721&CatId=7005

The Radeon HD6850 is based on the PCI Express 2.1 technology.

PCI Express 2.0 technology is backward compatible, with PCI Express 1.1 technology.

I have read problems on the internet, with graphics cards based on the PCI Express 2.1 technology, and being used on a motherboard with the PCI Express 1.1 technology.

I don't have any personal factual data, to support that statement with.
Just passing what I have read, on.

http://www.amd.com/us/products/desktop/graphics/amd-radeon-hd-6000/hd-6850/Pages/amd-radeon-hd-6850-overview.aspx

System Requirements -
550 Watt or greater power supply.

That is all
And now back to you Gort..................................

Regards,
joecoolvette

SOURCE: how formate

Hi,

Sure you can format, as long as you partition the drives into something smaller. Spit the size up and see if it formats that way. Why do you want such a large drive anyways, Defrag would be a nightmare with that size.

Have fun,

SOURCE: got ga 945 gzm -s2

All the drivers you need are available directly from gigabyte, you just have to chose which revision of the board you have from the list. The revision number is usually printed right next to the model number on the board.

hope this was helpful.

I WANT DRIVERS MOTHER BOARD ALL 945 GZM

Here it is.. (click here), open the link and select the o.s (the operating system installed on your computer) from "Choose", the available drivers for the selected operating system will be listed down the page. From there, download whatever you need by clicking the name of the country on the left hand side of the driver's name.

If you need further help, let me know with the name of the operating system installed on your computer.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Gigabyte 945 gzm s2 doesn`t recognize HDD Western Digital 320 GB

You might need to change your bios settings from ide to sata. Have you already checked the bios settings? If everything is in order you might have a bad board. What have you tried so far?
