Question about Washing Machines
That happened to my machine once, I gently wiggled it whilst very quickly giving it a springy type push and it popped out again. if that doesn't work, Make sure your hands are DRY and UNPLUG the machine from elec remove lid and reach inside and release the spring.

sounds like central control unit problem, you can check for diagnostic mode operation by setting (door closed) drain/spin, no spin, pressing prewash 4 times in 5 secs pressing prewash again will advance through diagnostic cycle. replacing user interface may also be necessary
