I am fairly handy with tools, but I can't seem to find a way into the inside. Do you know of anyplace online that has instructions for just getting the case open?

I can't find any support for your machine. Usually if you Look at the bottom of the laptop you will dee "bay" doors. There will be small icons for the components inside HDD, Memory. It mat be a dead HDD, if your laptop is getting old, you may want to change the CMOS battery, check Memory, check the HDD.

SOURCE: need to install operating system on laptop with no cd rom or driv

I believe this model of laptop was designed for Windows 95, which can be installed using only floppy disks. That would be just about your only solution. I would not recommend trying to install XP or anything on it, due to the outdated hardware. If it has a PCMCIA Slot on it (most do) you can buy a USB adapter that goes in there. But, as I stated before, I would just install Windows 95 on it (or possibly 98SE) Good Luck!

SOURCE: My Twinhead Slimnote SX25 won't start windows up.

It probably got a virus. Does it say NTLR or something like that with a blinking cursor? If it does, you need to get your Recover CD or DVD if it came with it, or find someone who has one. You can also try to go get a copy in eBay, but better find a friend who can help you with it. I also advice people to burn important info like pictures and music library, etc on a DVD or CDR so even if your system crashes, you can reinstall a new system as long as the problem is not a broken hard drive.

SOURCE: old twinhead slimnote 5100c do not start

Try removing its HDD and another removable disk. Finally the RAM module. If does not, take it for repairs.

Laptop comes on great and seems to make all the right noise but the screen looks like the old vhf/uhf tv screens from the 60's....wont show a thing encept "fuzzy static"...it's a slimnote...

Hmmm, well either your Video Driver needs to be re-installed or you need to change the windows resolution settings.

XP: Right click the desktop and left click properties. Clickthe Settings tab and you will see a slider bar in the middle left. Move the barto the right or left one at a time and eventually you will hit the correctsettings for the monitor.

Vista/Win7: Right click the desktop and left click on Screen Resolution. Whereit says Resolution, you can change the settings to the Recommended settings foryour specific monitor.

Cheers!

Will not boot ??

sounds like a problem i had with a philips laptop (which appears to be a twinhead repackaged as a philips)

This might sound weird but it works........

Take the battery out and disconnect from the ac
Press and hold the power button for about 40secs
connect the ac but don't replace the battery and press the power button
then replace the battery and turn it on. it should work
