I've just come across this notice from Pioneer. Sounds like you might be having the problem that they are describing in the faulty drives.

SOURCE: PIONEER DVD-ROM DVD-106 (not a burner)

For the decoders, I would try here :

http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Dscaler_MPEG_Filters.htm

Hopefully, these will help you to get the DVDs to run without having to shell out for them. I'm curious to see whether or not this helps with the C&C3, as it does seem very coincidental that this game should stop working at exactly the same time as your DVDs stop playing because your upgraded WMP no longer has the necessary codecs...

SOURCE: pioneer dvr 112d power calibration error

updated firmware will not help. this is a known issue with Pioneer DVR-112D, drive needs to be replaced. Contact Pioneer for a free replacement, here is the url http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Support/Important%3A+Notice+Regarding+CD+Read+and+Write+Functionality+in+Certain+Pioneer+Computer+Drive+Models

The issue occurs only under limited environmental and use conditions that are not typical for most end users, so Pioneer anticipates that most users will not be affected. If you are not experiencing any issues currently, there is no need to take immediate action. The service issue does not pose any health or safety risk.
Pioneer is aware of a potential issue with the above drives’ CD (not DVD) read/write capability. Under certain environmental and heavy use conditions, the above drives may become unable to read or write to CDs. To address this issue, for any of the above model drives that become unable to read and/or write to CDs, Pioneer will provide a replacement unit (which may be a newer model number) at no extra charge, shipping prepaid, subject to the terms and conditions of Pioneer’s standard limited warranty(excluding duration).
Again, we anticipate that most drives will not be affected. However, if your DVR-1810, DVR-2810, DVR-X122, DVR-112D, DVR-112DBK, or DVR-112DSV drive becomes unable to read or write to CDs, please contact Pioneer Customer Service by one of the following methods:
Complete an online replacement request form and submit it online. Once your model and serial number are validated, you will print out the completed form to mail along with the affected drive.
This online form is for United States customers only. For Canadian residents, please contact Pioneer Electronics of Canada customer service directly at 877-283-5901.

Can not play the disc, It prompt be to enter a region. What should i do.? thanks

It is a problem with older models only. You need to update the firmware. The latest firmware version is YKD9CO9A . So if I were you I would download YKD9CO9A for that dvd player. Get it from Pioneer Latin America site.
Burn the update on a disc. Load it in the player
After the update is completed, remove the disc from the tray. Hold down the Enter button on the remote until the DVD tray closes. See if that makes it region free.

I can't write BD-R 2X25 GB, LTH tipe!

Hi, I would like to help you out.

There is a small understanding needed when it comes to this single layer blue ray disc. The main sources say that there is a compatiblilty issue with your BD burner, If your BD burner is a 2009 or later model there is no issue, it'll work fine with almost all the manufacturers like panasonic, sony, pioneer and so on. However if the Blue ray hardware was manufactured before 2009. we need to check the manufacturer's website for firmware updates. It'll work fine once the firmware is updated.

I can help you better if you can tell me about your BD burner's manufacturer or you can understand a lot by checking this website to know which manufacturer's firmware needs to be updated.

Please take a look a look at this website for better understanding, so that my explanation may not look like its too hard to understand :)

Region free & Shrink

Found something that might work here^^ Try it and let me know.
Use DVD43(freeware) or AnyDVD or DVD Region-Free to make your region locked DVD drive and your software player region free. You can also "patch" your DVD drives firmware, you find patched DVD drives firmwares here (freeware but it may be a bit tricky and "dangerous").
Plz click on teh links^^
