WHAT ARE MEMORY PROTECTION BATTERIES

It depends on the brand and model. Some are soldered internally and require a technician to replace them. Others use a set of dry cell batteries e,g 3x AA batteries for backup. If you let me know the brand and model, I'll try to find out for you.

Tip

The problem is that there are NO international specifications on toner...

Hello my fellow fixya users.

I got a huge tip for your and the reason why I post this tip is to save you on huge repair cost or ultimately the replacement of you laser printer.

My church recently fell victim of there Dell laser printers giving out. I was asked as a tech why?

I asked them well are you using original toner from the manufacture our are you paying some dude $50 bucks to refill that toner?

Low and behold they where using re manufactured refilled toner cartridge from a company that did not pass inspection.

So I had to replace there DRUM after only 3 months of use of this printer. Dell did not want anything to do with warranty because they decided to save a few extra bucks.

the issue is:

1. Lubercation of the movable parts
2. Corrosive toner (ever heard of that?)
3. The sensor mimics a FULL message to the on-board circuit in the printer thinking its full so it will just print. (This causes paper jams and all other sorts of malfunction.)

Now I respect other reviews on fixya.com and visited the refilled idea myself in the past until i discovered my failures as well.

Do not be fooled by people trying to bait you into ink programs or toner programs your life of your printer depends on it.

I wear badges on fixya for a REASON, It's because our community of aker's feel I have what it takes to support them in those areas. Make no mistake about this folks refilled/remanufactured is for the birds!! Yes you save money and yes it does work fine, but not for long!!!

Do not let me catch you at Best Buy or any store with a brand new printer in your hand just because you wanted cheap printing.

You get what you pay for! Buy cheap ink get cheap results. Buy re manufactured toner and get a re manufactured printer back from your manufacture!!!

Trust me I done plenty of homework on this. My church put me on there technical advisory committee for a reason!!! They feel I know what the heck I am saying and you will too.

Just give it time!!

Have an olympus camedia c750 ultra zoom that will not stay on it beeps and closes with fresh batteries etc. it will some time turn on on its own and then close

You have an internal power input problem. This happens even with a new or fresh batteries. The internal power regulator is defective and needs to be replaced. This component is in between the battery and the circuit that powers up your camera. It will require service by a Digital camera service technician, because of the tools and test equipment required to diagnose it and repair the unit.

Second hand moving in 4 second increments instead of 1 second clicks. Does this mean it needs service or just a new battery?

Hi,

This means it needs a new battery. But if your watch is about 5 years old it is best to have it serviced. The oils in the movement will be drying out and this causes the gear train to require more power from the battery to make it move. By drawing more power from the battery, the battery will not last as long. This shortening of the battery life continues until the watch is serviced or eventually a new battery will not get the watch to run.

All watches require regular service to stay working properly.

Hope this helps,

Ken

Camera wont turn on

You didn't provide much information for troubleshooting, but your problem may be due to weak/worn out batteries or corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera which can prevent the full power of the batteries from flowing into the camera. Try this free fix before you do anything else: remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, then wipe both ends of the batteries and place them back in the camera. This cleaning clears the problem about 90% of the time. If it doesn't work for you, your batteries may need to be replaced, or the camera may have a problem that requires professional repair.

Display reads: Battery empty, Camera will not function with new batteies, lense cover will not open. NOTHING happens.

This is a little rough to answer without more specifics, but the problem you describe is frequently due to corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera. Remove the batteries and wipe the inside contacts with a clean dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a fine wire brush, steel wool, or fine sandpaper). Remove any specks that may have fallen inside the battery compartment during cleaning, then clean and replace the batteries.

This clears about 90% of the power-up problems, and I hope it works for you. If not, you may have a more serious problem that will need the attention of a camera repair shop.

What battery is required for the NWZ-E438F model?

I was told by sony chat that there is no battery for sale, just repair or exchange. Put in your model and purchase date to see if you qualify for replacement, it's $29 for refurb unit or $77 to repair. Either price includes return shipping http//eservice.sony.com

Hi there,

If your computer got wet, then more than likely your computer is dead. Even if you dried out the computer, if there was sugar in whatever was spilled, the sugar corrodes the internals.

Requires Head Alignment EVERY time switch power on

It sounds like the printer is not keeping its internal memory. It either has corrupt internal flash memory, or it has an internal bios chip with an attached battery and the battery is dead. In any case, every time you turn it off it forgets everything. When you turn it back on, it acts like you're turning it on for the first time.

I have tried to find some specific information on this model to see if we can replace the memory and or battery. However, I haven't been able to find the specific information for it, so I contacted Canon. I hope to hear back from them within a day, and I will let you know what I learn.

Of course, you could just leave the printer on all the time and it wouldn't lose its memory, but I assume that's a less than ideal solution.
