SOURCE: Input 6 - HD Input - Green Screen. Audio Only. No picture.

Hi there,
I am having a similar problem with the inputs. I have a cable box plugged in to cable antenna, DVD to video 6 using HDMI, Mac computer plugged in to video 7 - using HDMI (TV does not recognize this) and then Nintendo Wii hooked up to Video 1. My problem is that Sony only realizes 2 additional components like the video 1 (wii) and DVD on video 6, it does not play the other components. I have to niw manually switch the cables to have them work...

Rgb connection stopped working on laptop

Instructions
    • 1 Decide if you want to watch the television on your computer or use the TV as a larger monitor. If you want to view the contents of the TV on your laptop, you need a video card connected to to the computer. These cards can either be inserted through the express PCI card slot on the laptop, or via USB cable. Make sure the video tuner card supports component video.
    • 2 Connect the DVI-to-component cable into the DVI port if you want to use the TV as a large monitor for your laptop. However, if you have a VGA port, plug the VGA-to-component cable into the VGA port.
    • 3 Plug the RGB component cables into the component side of the DVI- or VGA-to-component cable. If you want to watch the TV on your computer, insert the RGB cables into the TV video card.
    • 4 Plug the other end of the RGB component cables into the TV. If you are using the TV as a monitor, plug the cables into the "Component In" ports. However, if you are sending the TV signal to the computer, plug the cables into the "Component Out" port (the other end of the DVI- or VGA-to-component cable that you connected to your computer in Step 2).
    • 5 Power on the TV. If you are using the TV as a computer monitor, press the "Video" button until "Component Video" appears on the screen. If you are watching TV on your computer, launch the television viewing software that came with the TV tuner card. You can now see the contents of the TV on your computer.

I plugged in the normal 3 Video inputs and it still doesn't work.

More info is needed, please. When you say 3 video inputs, what are you referring to? I believe the Sanyo has the HDMI, RGB/YPbPr component video, S-video component, RCA composite video and Coaxial connections, though I'm not sure how many of each. So lets start with the best quality to least.

HDMI: This is one cable that provides both audio & video and produces the best picture quality. It comes in different lengths and is a wide, flat connection. A must for 1080p resolution signals.

Component video, RGB or YPbPr analog component cables: 5 separate RCA cables, 3 of which are video that separate the video signal & 2 audio cables. The 3 video cables are generally red, green and blue (RGB) or marked individually with the letters Y, Pb/Cb & Pr/Cr . The audio cables are red & white. You may see these on the back of DVD players often. They will carry a signal up to 1080i but not 1080p.

S-video component: One cable for video, it is a round connection with several pins in it and will only plug in one way. You must use 2 RCA cables for audio with this cable, red & white again.

Composite video: 3 separate cables; Red, White & Yellow. Red & White are audio, left and right while yellow is video.

And finally there is coaxial which it the cable that is identical to the cable from the pole/ cable box or your dish. It is the poorest quality.

What can happen is you are using 3 standard RCA cables and have them plugged into the component input & they will not carry the signal, or one end in component input and the other end in the composite output or vice versa. Another is that you have the wrong input selected on the menu. Check all your cables and connections, plus the input you have selected on the TV itself.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Unfortunately, size limitation of what could be attached prevents posting a connection diagram. Still, proposed connection scheme:
  • 4250HDC's HDMI to Panasonic's HDMI 1 or 2;
  • 4250HDC's VIDEO OUT to GoVideo's LINE IN 1 VIDEO;
  • 4250HDC's AUDIO OUT to 2 pcs of RCA Splitters (shown below);
  • 1 pair from the 2 splitters to GoVideo's LINE IN 1 R-AUDIO-L;
  • the other pair to Yamaha's LD/TV L & R;
  • GoVideo's LINE OUT VIDEO to Panasonic's VIDEO IN 1 VIDEO;
  • GoVideo's LINE OUT R-AUDIO-L to 2 more RCA Splitters;
  • 1 pair from the 2 splitters to Panasonic's VIDEO IN 1 L-AUDIO-R;
  • the other pair to Yamaha's VCR 1 IN L & R;
  • to watch cable TV in HD quality, set Panasonic to HDMI 1 or 2 by pressing Panasonic remote's INPUT button, then 3 (or 4), then OK;
  • to hear cable TV programs on Yamaha's speakers, set Yamaha to LD/TV;
  • to watch DVD or VHS, set Panasonic to Video 1 by pressing Panasonic remote's INPUT button, then 6, then OK;
  • to hear DVD or VHS on Yamaha's speakers, set Yamaha to VCR 1;
  • to record cable TV programs, press GoVideo remote's TV VIEW button a couple of times to cycle through the signal sources or until Line 1 is displayed.

The use of the splitter shown below would effectively double the AUDIO OUT of the cable box and the DVD/VCR combo to feed both the TV and the stereo. Additionally, this would allow use of the cable box and/or the DVD/VCR combo with or without the Yamaha.

Forcing audio only signal through component

You cannot get AUDIO from Component Video, as it is only VIDEO, you must get another set of Cables RED & WHITE, and connect them from the AV, AUDIO Jacks, OUT on the "Sender" to the AV AUDIO IN on the TV. So you will have 5 Cables connecting BOTH Video & Audio. The Component Video, uses Blue, Green, & Red, these go color to color on the RCA Jacks at BOTH ends PLUS the Red & White Audio, color to color at BOTH ends. .Hope that clears things up.

No input detected on projector

it sounds like the A/V reciever does not upconvert the component signal to HDMI. Not many do. The Marantz recievers will (SR6001, SR8001, etc..). Also bear in mind that HDMI cables are finicky and may require amplification over a few meters long.
