Take two wires, equal length. Reach from positive of 1 coil and hook too positive of 2nd coil, now do the same with negative, neg to neg.. Then pos of sub to amp. And neg of sub too amp.

Alpine x is not reading proper ohm resistance amps blew

the gmax amps are only 2ohm stable. it is odd that they both blew at the same time but if the impedence is too low to amps will fail.dual 4ohm dvc subs wired in parallel should read around 2ohms. allthought impedence varies with frequency and isnt truly stable.

How many svc subs at 4ohm does it take to get this amp to 1ohm stable and can you reccomend a good sub combo for this amp whether it be dvc or svc

It depends if your sub is 4ohm svc, or 2ohm svc. 4ohm would take 4 subs wired in parallel, 2ohm would take 2 subs wired in parallel. But for a amp that big, subs that'll handle it are definitely gonna be dvc. I'd recommend 2 Orion 4ohm dvc hcca's. They come in either 15in or 12in. the 15s are louder if you have the space for them. As far as wiring goes, wire the voice coils on the subs in parallel to 2ohm per sub, then wire the 2 subs in parallel to 1ohm. Goodluck and congrats on the equipment, Orion is about as good as you can go for subs and amps. just be ready to lay down some dynamat cuz this system'll bloww your vehicle apart! good luck...

Bridge two 12inch subs together

it depends. what is the ohm rating of each sub, and the amp. are the subs DVC(dual voice coil)? and are you trying to bridge them directly to the amp? i need more info, but i can say that if they are 4ohm subs, if you run them parallel, they will become 2 ohm. to keep them at 4 ohms, they need to be run i n series, and you need more than 2 for that.

How do i bridge 2-4ohm dvc's to a mono block

If you have a DVC 4ohm speaker, and you are using both voice coils, the amp is seeing a 2ohm load.
If you bridge the amp, you CAN run both subs as long as the amp is Two Ohms Stable.
Wire each subs voice coils in parallel.(Positive to positve, neg to neg.) (2ohms) each.
Then wire the two subs in series.(Neg from amp to neg of sub one, pos of sub one to neg of sub two. then pos of sub two to pos of amp.

If it sounds too hard, leave it as you are already running the amp at two ohms.

HOW TO WIRE ONE DVC SUBWOOFER TO A PHOENIX GOLD TRANTRUM 1200.1

Hello matt225281.

Since the Tantrum only lists specifications into a 4ohm load, you need to make sure that the final impedance of your DVC sub is 4ohms or greater. So a sub with either 2ohm or 4ohm voice coils needs to have the coils wired in series with a jumper between the positive of one coil to the negative of the other and the remaining positive and negative to the amp speaker terminals. Paralleling the voice coils will result in a 1ohm or 2ohm load to the amp and it will overheat, go into protection or possibly fail completely.

If your sub has 2ohm voice coils, the load will be 4ohms which allows the amp to produce maximum power. The final impedance with 4ohm voice coils will be 8ohms. The power will be reduced, but the amp will operate without overheating.

Either set of the speaker terminals on the amp can be used. They are connected internally so it doesn't matter which one you use.

Hope this helps.

How do you wire four 12 inch kicker cvr dual voice coil, to a 2400 watt 1 channel class d amp

Hello brysonford00,

The wiring configuration depends on what final impedance you want the amp to see. If the subs are 4ohm DVC's, you can wire them to present a 2ohm impedance or an 8ohm impedance. The diagrams are here. If your subs are 2ohm DVC's, the wiring is the same. The impedances will be 1ohm and 4ohms.

Hope this helps.

Mono amp to a 4ohm dvc sub

Hello joverstre525,

Sure, just wire both voice coils in parallel to the amp output terminals. The "wiring wizard" here shows the possible wiring options.

Hope this helps.

CORRECT CONNECTION TO AMP BEING A FOUR TERMINAL SPEAKER

Hello i_starling,

The Kicker L7's come in either 2ohm or 4ohm dual voice coil (DVC) versions.

Whatever amp they are connected to, you need to know both the impedance of your L7's and the impedance of your amp. The L7's dual voice coils can be wired to provide a total of four different loads:

2ohm coils in parallel = 1ohm load
2ohm coils in series = 4ohm load
4ohm coils in parallel = 2ohm load
4ohm coils in series = 8ohm load

Your best connection would be the one that results in a final impedance load that is supported by the amp.

Hope this helps.

How to wire up my kicker 12inch solobaric l5 2ohm to my zx500 2ohm mono amp. should it be ran in parallel or series? what is the best suggestion

Well first of all all solobarics are dual voice coil so you have 2 2ohm voice coils so if you wire them in parallel the sub will be pulling a 1ohm load wich would in time blow out your amp. So you want to wire both voice coils in series to produce a 4ohm load.
