Best solution I have found to clean them is to buy yourself some (CLR) seems to work the best, I would recommend soaking as much of it as possible, the longer you let it work the better the results, hope that helped

There is no water going into the humidifier, make: Generalaire 1042


Hello, first thing is check is the strainer going into the solenoid valve for sediment, if there is clean the strainer and reinstall. If the strainer in clean the check if you are getting 24 volts to the solenoid valve, if you have voltage and the solenoid does not let the water thru replace the solenod valve.

General 1042-L not putting moisture in the air. Water valve is open and getting to the filter. The unit is clean.

Water leaking out of bottom


A leaking humidifier is a sign that the unit's filter needs to be cleaned/changed. I had the exact same problem on this model.

General 1042


The 1042 has a valve that operates on 120 VAC. The 1042-LH has a valve that operates on 24V.
