I haven't encountered multiple beeps on shutdown - but multiple beeps on startup is usually an indication of a memory issue. Frequently can be resolved by simply taking memory modules out and re-inserting them.

If problem continues, may need to replace memory chip. If more than one chip, put one in at a time and startup to see which chip is causing the problem.

Not sure, based on your description of the problem, if this is the issue - but certainly worth a try.

Best of Luck!

SOURCE: Upgrade the Toshiba Libretto 50 CT

if you want to improve the speed of your laptop you could buy a faster harddrive with an higher rpm per minute than the one installed in the unit, that WILL speed up the system:), and yes its possible to boot from the 2gb flash card but i recommend if you are going to use a flash card you get a bigger one:)
Cheers

SOURCE: toshiba satellite L300 wont boot

hi thanks for using fixya!

I suggest that if you could do a full scan (anti-virus) to your system. Then, do the disk defragmenter on all your drives, especially the system drive.

the last option is to reformat your system/laptop.

If you need further assistance, let me know.

pls rate me positively! thanks!

SOURCE: Toshiba wont turn on, has beeping after i press power

Check the memory modules. Test one at a time to see if any of them is damaged. If you have only one, try a borrowed chip, or test yur modules in a borrowed laptop (it doesn't have to be the same brand/model, only the chips must be the same speed).

Hello,

first, I will advice that you check the adapter, see if its still working. The adapter might be the reason your laptop is not working.

If you have confirmed that the adapter is still good, let me know so that I can direct you further.

Take care.

I cant reformat my Toshiba libretto L3. I tried everything

You cant boot from cd. Try changing the boot order in the BIOS and allow the CD to have ownership over the Harddisk Drive. This way the computer is forced to boot from the CD.

Screen has no power

1. take a flashlight and light on the display after you started the computer and waited for about 5 minutes, if you can see the windows environment the inverter needs to be replaced (normally it's in the display frame under the display)
2. attach an external monitor to the laptop and boot. if the monitor shows something you don't have a defective graphic-card (maybe you must push fn + one of the fn-buttons showing a monitor)

if you don't get anything displayd by an external monitor the graphic-card might be defective - you would need a "new" motherboard then

Toshiba A105-S101 freezes at start up!

I would first attempt to reinstall the software from the install cd. Your Toshiba support page is recomending a new BIOS upgrade. See below:

How to overcome 8.4gb bios limit on a toshiba libretto 100ct?

Ok get a program called Partition Magic, I have found you a Tutorial here: http://www.le.ac.uk/cc/dsss/docs/pm4-main.shtml Basically, you divide the 8.5GB into smaller sizes, NO MORE than 4GB, so say 2x3GB, & 1x2.5GB, or whatever suits.. then ya Format each Partition, Make ONE an Active Boot Partition, the rest logical ones. Your actual Size of the drives will be less than the Total due to Formatting information etc. Read the tutorial carefully B4 ya do anything. Ya be using the bigger storage in no time...
