Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: message on screen

do you have a floppy disk in it? or is it set to boot from the cd drive, with a non-bootable os disk in it?

those errors usually happen when you computer does not find a os system in the device it is set to boot from. Try setting it to boot from the hard drive.

A Simple Way to Increase, or Decrease, Text Size

An easy way to increase or decrease text size on most any type of Windows software is to rest your cursor over the software you are using, press and hold the Ctrl key, and then scroll the wheel on your mouse forward and backward. Pushing it forward increases text size, and going backward decreases the text size. You can also press and hold the Ctrl key and then hit either the "+" or "-" key for the same results!

How to format and instal a window xp

1.Insert your Windows XP installation disc into your CD drive<br /><br />2.Now as you computer boots a little more it will say "Press any key to boot from CD.." press a key to do so.<br /><br />3.The CD will load up a blue screen and then spend a while loading files it needs. When it is finished it will list a few options, mainly "Press ENTER to set up Windows XP." Press Enter or Return.<br /><br />4. Now you will be at a screen to select where to install Windows to. This is where you can delete old partitions and format drives. The box in the bottom half of the screen shows all your drives and the partitions that exist on them. Use the Up and Down arrow keys to highlight your "C:" partition and press the 'D' key (if all that shows up is "Unpartitioned space" and you have no C: or D: partitions, skip this step). On the next screen press the 'L' key to finalize deleting the partition.<br /><br />5.Now you are back on the screen to choose where to install Windows. The box on the lower half of the screen should no longer show a partition but simply have an entry "Unpartitioned space xxxxxMB." Select this with the arrow keys and press the 'C' key to create a partition on the drive. The next screen tells you the minimum and maximum sizes the partition can be and lets you pick the size. The default size is the maximum, but double check that the number entered is the maximum and hit enter.<br /><br />6.Now you will again be back at the choose where to install Windows screen. But this time you will have a partition that looks something like this "C: Partition1 [New (Raw)]xxxxxxMB." Highlight this entry and press enter.<br /><br />7.The next screen lets you choose which file system to format the drive with. Choose NTFS as it is faster and more secure. If the drive is brand new and has never been used before then use one of the options that ends in "(Quick)." Or, choose one of the lower down options. Use the arrow keys to select the proper one and press Enter or Return.<br /><br />8. From here you are all set and the installation of Windows will proceed starting with a format of your drive. This will take a while (over half an hour)

"wrong cartridge" message appears, new

It could be due to "waste tank full" alarm; you may need to reset the waste tank counter.
I found a reset sequence for a MP730 printer in this website that works for F30 and F50 as well. Try:
Resetting the Waste Ink Volume Counter

1) Enter SERVICE MODE.---
By pressing Menu-Copy-#

2) Select TEST MODE.
3) Select [8] PRINTER TEST in TEST MODE.
4) Select 3. [EEPROM CLEAR].
5) Select 0. [INK COUNT].
6) Press the [OK] key.
7) Press the [Stop/Reset] key (returning to the state of 3)), and then press the [ON/OFF] key.

Skip step (6) since there is no [OK] key on F30 or F50 printers.

I have accidentally turned the child lock on and then turned of the tv and when i switch it back on it comes up locked on the screen and none of the buttons respond and i do not have the remote controll...

Get a Magnavox (or Philips, same company) brand universal remote and try this. I found this info at a tech website, but I haven't tried it myself (never have used parental lock on any set), so I don't know if really a solution.

Philips sets use 0711 as the override code to defeat parent lock. You may need to enter the code twice if it says "invalid code" the first time.

Using the remote control:

Press the MENU key. Scroll up or down until you reach AUTOLOCK or SMARTLOCK. Press the "right arrow" key. Enter code 0711. Enter it again if it says invalid code.

Once in the AUTOLOCK or SMARTLOCK menu:

Scroll to BLOCK. Press the "right arrow" key. Scroll to BLOCKING OPTIONS. Press the "right arrow" key. Scroll to MASTER DISABLE. Press the "right arrow" key. This should unlock the parental control.

Hope this works for you. Thanks for using Fixya!

Just another little way that Canon have found to get more money from you, would probably cost you at least $150 for Canon to fix, but you can, I think this should work.
Reset Waste Ink
1) Enter SERVICE MODE.
By pressing Menu, Copy, Scan, Copy, Copy
2) Select TEST MODE.
3) Select [8] PRINTER TEST in TEST MODE.
4) Select 3. [EEPROM CLEAR].
