This is allen from india. I have a Gigabyte GA-G31-MS2L MoBo powered by a dual core processor!! Recently i bought a new radoeon HD 3650 512 mb DDr2 graphics card for my pci express MoBo! I had onboard intel G31 graphics for the past 4 months so i went for this mainstream card!! But sooner i faced a troublesome problem with it!! It would be nice if i can get some help. The problem is.... I fitted the graphics card after i disabled the onboard graphics in my bios..then i booted the system it works fine without the drivers installed.But as soon as i had installed the drivers, i come across this probelem... as soon as i load xp sp2 my 19" lcd automatically recieves no power signal from my GPU at the WELCOME screen. but my OS loads without prob as i can hear the loading sound.This happens only during fisrt boot after switchin on the main supply or after a shutdown, i try to restart. Othewise if i restart or load after entering in to the bios, i have no problem..a second restart always works!! once i enter xp all the games are runnin fine..but for this loading prob!! can i have a solution....i wud appreciate!! Thank u

If you're having trouble on display in your monitor,please check the following;
1. Check your CPU if its responding,booting or the power light indicator is running. 2. Check the video card slot pin if its align and clean,as well as the serial/com cable connected ion both ends. 3. Try to replace another video card, might the current attached is damage. 4. Check all cords and see if there's some intermittent lines neither need to replace new cord.
There is no reason why this graphics card should not be working. The Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3 has a PCI-Express 16x slot. The HD6870 requires at least 194W at idle and 320W under load (when playing games or video encoding). This leads me to believe that maybe the card isn't getting enough power.
The HD6870 needs 2X 6pin power plugs as show below directly from your power supply.
Motherboard power is not enough so make sure you have connected these plugs firmly and that your power supply has the relevant plugs.
If your power supply doesn't have two 6 pin power plugs then you can use the molex to 6pin coverters that came in the HD6870 package shown below.
You might try setting the display adapter in the bios to PCI-X,
You could also try going into safe mode to see if you can install the new drivers and fix the problem.
Other than that you would need to stick the card in another computer and confirm whether it is functional.
I have the exact same card with Vista and had no issues, and have been very happy with it.
2GB RAM should be about $100, the same for installation. Your current graphics card meets the specs you provided. An upgraded video card will be about $200 for one that will work, $300 for one that will work well.
It appears something has happened with the video card or connector especially if it displays fine with the onboard video and original memory. Disconnect power and reinsert the video card into it's slot.

Ok only 64 bit memory and 40 stream processors. Put your settings on 800x600 and all medium settings. Too bad, but you should also have 2 gigs of memmory to run the game really well.
I still get some lag every once in a while but I have 2 gigs of memory, 1950 pro and a dual core processor. You dont need dual core but at least a 3ghz single core.
let me know if this helps. send me an email if you have to as well and I dont mind helping you out in further detail with your system specs and what I think you could use to play some of the more current vid games.
