Re: fortgot network password
How do I find out my Wireless key (WEP or WPA) ?
There are numerous ways to find out these values so I will cover a few.
Easy Solution (you should be so lucky) Sometimes the value for the Wireless Key is written on the underneath of the router, look for SSID (this is the network name) and WEP or WPA key (called the encryption key)
Alternative Method In order to find out your Wireless Network Key you must first use a cable to connect to your router.
Once connected check that you are connected to the internet by opening Internet Explorer , Safari or Netscape (in fact any internet browser)
The address or the router is usually one of the following values:-

Connect to internet using ethernet cable and update wifi driver from makers site, if this does not work then buy a usb wifi adapter off ebay or from a local store, put it into usb port and install the driver from the disc supplied with the adapter and off you go (far cheaper than replacing the wifi card)
you need to reconfigure your printer and laptop to WEP but I don't recommend it as WEP is terrible and easy to crack.
connect to your router via cat 5
open internet explorer and browse to http://192.168.1.1
login with the default login is blank. pass is admin.
go to wireless and to wireless security.
change it back to WPA personal.
change the passphase for the wireless password.
use the new passphase you created and tell your printer/laptop to join your wireless network
you may want to change your wireless password too so your son won't reconfigure your router again.
do this by going to administration and change the password there.
WEP or WPA Key is the password for your wireless network.. it's the same password you used to connect your laptop to the wireless.. if yo forgot what it is, you might need to contact the manufacturer of the router or your internet service provider to reconfigure or re-setup your wireless network.. hope this helps a bit.
If you are trying to connect the PSP through a network that belongs to you, then the network administrator is the person to ask for the WPA key. The WPA is like a password. It protects the network from unauthorized access.
Hi. Open your browser and go to http://192.168.1.1 the default username and password is admin / admin. Once you are inside the router, you will see on the left the menu such as network map, operation mode, advanced settings. Under advanced settings you will see the Wireless configuration where you can change the SSID (name of the wireless network) to any name you want. Then on the security you can select either WEP or WPA, i would recommend WPA and you set the password (letters and numbers or just letters) and save the settings and that's it. Try to do this on a computer directly connected to the router (via ethernet cable) because any change on the wireless will disconnect you. I hope this helps. ok make sure your router is set up connect to your router and check under the wireless settings make sure you have made a custom name for your wireless network and have some network encryption enabled for it i prefer wpa personal over wep as wep can be cracked easily so after you make up a password be sure to remember it you'll need it later, so after all those settings are saved close that out and goto your laptop open up the wireless network connections and click scan after your network comes up double click it and you should be prompted for a password, enter the password you set up on the router and click connect, also windows will sometimes ask you to verify the password after you have entered the password you will hit connect after a short period of time it should connect to your router and internet is yours :) enjoy
Try a different kind of wireless encryption on your router. This will probably fix it. If your password is wep, try wpa. If it's wpa, try wep. If you don't know what the heck I'm talking about.....let me know :)
what you want exactly?password for what? username and password for internet in subscriber? or just WEP for wireless key password?
if you forgot the password for username and password for subscriber....theres an option,i dont know what kind of subscriber do you have in your country...if you forgot the username and passowrd you can ask in the subscriber.
regarding in the WEP password for wireless,it doesnt matter, try this..
type 192.168.1.1 in the internet toolbar
and you can see the configuration, check the wireless settings for WEP...
The password is a WPA Shared Key. The secret key will be shown in your routers security or advanced or network configuration page.......if you forgot the key then the best alternative will be to reset the router you could simply create a new WPA-PSK and then setup each machine again that needs wireless access to your network.
