Try to connect onther pc if its working then u have to format your mp3 plyer then try to plugin your pc
Try unplugging computer power cable for ten minutes, if computer is a laptop, also try removing battery for few minutes.
This will drain power and can fix some problem on USB port.
To get files from USB, check also if the removable disk is displayed under 'my computer' .
Note: Usb players cannot usually play or record while they are connected to USB.
The drivers that have been spoken of need to be loaded onto the computer you are hooking the player to through USB, not the player.
Hi and welcome to FixYa,
Initially, download, install and run HP Drive Key Boot Utility and just use its format feature. Formatting of course would delete all existing files, check for errors and prepares the unit as a FAT device.
Pls post back result(s). Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

Please make sure that the Computer is recognizing the Walkman when connected to the USB port.
Make sure that you're using the supplied USB cable for connecting to the Computer.
If you use the portable player for the first time, if you have not used it for a long time, or the battery is depleted, it may take up to 5 minutes for it to be recognized or start charging. On models with a display, the display will remain blank. If it the portable player is not recognized or does not begin to charge after waiting 5 minutes, reset the player by pressing the reset button.
Disconnect the USB cable from the portable player and then reconnect.
Check the connection status again.
Disconnect the USB cable from the computer and then reconnect.
Check the connection status again.
Check for available space on the player using Windows Media Player or My Computer.
Restart the computer.
Check the connection status again.
Check that the USB cable is firmly connected to both the computer and the player.
Check the connection status again.
If the player is connected to a USB hub, disconnect it and connect it directly to the computer with a dedicated USB cable.
Check the connection status again.
If the player is still not recognized by the computer, disconnect all devices connected to the computer with a USB connection and restart the computer.
After the computer restarts, connect only the Walkman player and test the connection again.
If the player is still not charged by the computer, try a different USB port.
