Can't delete from "favorite channels" after programming moved
I have a 37" Hannspree LCD and installed 10 channels into its "favorite channels" sequence. My cable company switched programming of channel 101-511 to another channel. "Favorite channels" sequencing now hits this and responds "Not Exist". I can only remove tuned-in channels from "favorite channels". How can I clear from "favorite channels" one that I can no longer tune?
Hannspree email said press Menu, 991 (to access factory controls), Memory Recall (=factory reset). This factory reset fails to clear the "favorite channels" list. Hannspree (Chris Morgia) stopped responding to my email once I told him this.

Re: Can't delete from "favorite channels" after...
Hi and welcome to FixYa,
If I may offer an alternative approach, delete all the personal settings of the TV unit. And normally this would include the "Favorite Channels".
Since the Menu, 991, Memory Recall failed to do a factory reset, why not try unplugging the unit from the outlet for an extended period of time. This would simulate a transit/storage condition and would revert the unit back to factory defaults.
Pls post back result(s). Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

To see if the problem is with your remote control, go to the receiver and use the channel up/down buttons on the receiver itself. If you can change your channels with the buttons on the receiver, the batteries in your remote control probably need to be changed.
If you can't change channels from the receiver, turn off the receiver. Then unplug it for at least 15 seconds. Plug the receiver back it and turn it on. Again, try changing channels from the receiver itself.
Tune to a channel, and while programming is playing, try tuning to the missing channel by entering the channel number on the remote control keypad to see if channels change. Do not try to select the channel from a channel list, program guide, or favorites list.
If this approach takes you to the correct channel, you need to adjust your favorites list function. Press the "guide" button on your remote. Look for a button on your remote called "fav" or "list." Press it several times and watch for an indication at the top of the guide that you are moving from "all channels" to a particular favorites list.
If you are locked on one channel only, your Channel Lock feature is likely active. Consult your owner's manual to unlock the rest of your channels. See your owner's manual for information on managing favorite channel lists and locking out channels. Enter your password, if necessary.
If by tune, you mean program channels; Press the menu button on the remote and select the Setup option. Go to Installation, Terrestrial, Channel program, start. This will automatically add all the channels to your television that you are able to recieve.
These are poor electrical connections between the LCD panel and the address board(s) which connected within the LCD panel assembly. Although they can be physically touched if you disassemble the panel assembly, generally, they are none serviceable. LCD panel assembly replacement is the fix for this problem. I hope this was of some assistance.
Different cable systems use different frequencies for the TV channel numbers. There should be some kind of selection in your setup menu to switch between broadcast TV channels and different cable/satellite channel schemes.
Using the Color buttons on the Remote with the Channel List.
• Red (Antenna): Switches to Air or Cable.
• Green (Zoom): Enlarges or shrinks a channel number.
• Yellow (Select): Selects multiple channel lists.
• TOOLS (Option): Displays the Add(or Delete), Add to Favorite(or Delete from Favorite),
Timer Viewing, Channel Name Edit, and Auto Program menus..
The TV automatically cycles through all of the available channels and stores them in memory.
In rare cases, "Auto program" may miss a few channels due to weak signals and the channels may
not be added to the channel memory.

Hope this helps. I have the owners manual on file.
