Can't delete from "favorite channels" after programming moved

I have a 37" Hannspree LCD and installed 10 channels into its "favorite channels" sequence. My cable company switched programming of channel 101-511 to another channel. "Favorite channels" sequencing now hits this and responds "Not Exist". I can only remove tuned-in channels from "favorite channels". How can I clear from "favorite channels" one that I can no longer tune?
Hannspree email said press Menu, 991 (to access factory controls), Memory Recall (=factory reset). This factory reset fails to clear the "favorite channels" list. Hannspree (Chris Morgia) stopped responding to my email once I told him this.

Thank you for almost instantly responding to my posted problem about 20 minutes ago. You suggest I go to the menu and delete Favorite Channels. I went back to the TV and searched to be sure. But it was I remembered it; Favorite Channels does not appear in any menu.

I can only add/delete a "Favorite Channel" when tuned into that channel. Autotune no longer sees channels I used to see and installed into favorites. The manual does not address this issue and Hannspree's advice (without their actually trying it) is ineffective. Thanks again for your help.---kmantei

The Hannspree 37" LCD TV model# is JT02-37U1. There is a Add/Delete button for Favorite Channels but it only works for channels that are tuned in. The cable company has moved the channels so I can no longer tune them in to delete them from Favorites.

No luck since my Jan 2009 question to FixYa. Model is not even on Hannspree website anymore. I've tried removing batteries and all power for a day or two but factory default for Favorite Channels is not reset. Even more of my Favorite Channels have been moved so I cannot tune them in to remove them from memory. Just thought I'd check to see if you heard of any fix in the past year.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

If I may offer an alternative approach, delete all the personal settings of the TV unit. And normally this would include the "Favorite Channels".

Since the Menu, 991, Memory Recall failed to do a factory reset, why not try unplugging the unit from the outlet for an extended period of time. This would simulate a transit/storage condition and would revert the unit back to factory defaults.

Pls post back result(s). Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

If you have a Fav A/D button on your remote, turn to a channel that is saved as favorite and press Fav A/D. I do not have the model number for your tv so I downloaded one of the three 37 inch that they offer. Let me know and I can assist further. Lone99star

If the factory reset will not clear the favorites the key sequence may be stored in the remote, try removeing the batteries from the remote and pressing a few bottons to discharge and put the batteries back in. I will continue to research. Lone99star

From the setup menu (Icon looks like Swiss Army Knife) go to memory recall, this should reset all all favorites. I have the same Tv on my bench, only this one is rebranded as Viewsonic. I used memory recall and it erased all favorites. Let me know if it works. Lone99star

Try and run an auto program on your television through the settings to scan for Channel 12. Sometimes the channel can get deleted and just needs to be searched again to work.

To see if the problem is with your remote control, go to the receiver and use the channel up/down buttons on the receiver itself. If you can change your channels with the buttons on the receiver, the batteries in your remote control probably need to be changed.

If you can't change channels from the receiver, turn off the receiver. Then unplug it for at least 15 seconds. Plug the receiver back it and turn it on. Again, try changing channels from the receiver itself.

Tune to a channel, and while programming is playing, try tuning to the missing channel by entering the channel number on the remote control keypad to see if channels change. Do not try to select the channel from a channel list, program guide, or favorites list.

If this approach takes you to the correct channel, you need to adjust your favorites list function. Press the "guide" button on your remote. Look for a button on your remote called "fav" or "list." Press it several times and watch for an indication at the top of the guide that you are moving from "all channels" to a particular favorites list.

If you are locked on one channel only, your Channel Lock feature is likely active. Consult your owner's manual to unlock the rest of your channels. See your owner's manual for information on managing favorite channel lists and locking out channels. Enter your password, if necessary.

My 37" Hannspree has vertical lines on screen about 5" apart that can only be seen when certain shades are on screen. What are these?

These are poor electrical connections between the LCD panel and the address board(s) which connected within the LCD panel assembly. Although they can be physically touched if you disassemble the panel assembly, generally, they are none serviceable. LCD panel assembly replacement is the fix for this problem. I hope this was of some assistance.

I moved from TX to MX and my olevia rc-ltl willnot get the programing of present cable service. What you suggest I do?

Different cable systems use different frequencies for the TV channel numbers. There should be some kind of selection in your setup menu to switch between broadcast TV channels and different cable/satellite channel schemes.

Dont know how to do a channel scan on my samsung 2333hd t.v

Using the Color buttons on the Remote with the Channel List.
• Red (Antenna): Switches to Air or Cable.
• Green (Zoom): Enlarges or shrinks a channel number.
• Yellow (Select): Selects multiple channel lists.
• TOOLS (Option): Displays the Add(or Delete), Add to Favorite(or Delete from Favorite),
Timer Viewing, Channel Name Edit, and Auto Program menus..

Auto Program
The TV automatically cycles through all of the available channels and stores them in memory.
In rare cases, "Auto program" may miss a few channels due to weak signals and the channels may
not be added to the channel memory.
Air
Cable
Auto
MENU → arrow up, arrow down→enter → arrow up, arrow down→enter →arrow up, arrow down →enter →arrow up, arrow down, arrow left , arrow right →enter → MENU,EXIT.

Hope this helps. I have the owners manual on file.
