    Bios Version 61ET37WW (V2.06)

I went into the bios i couldn't find any information about Fingerprint read..??

Also, I checked the device manager I found under Personal Identifications Devices :

I have the same problem but with an ex623 msi notebook, under vista. Cannot find the fingerprint device under Device Manager. Cannot find in bios anything about fingerprint, re-installation of fingerprint drivers does not help.
I get the error in Protector Suite Software(a utility for fingerprint sensor):
    Cannot enroll user.
0xe7210005 Cannot find fingerprint sensor device.

Now I am trying to install Service pack1 for vista to see what happens.
    Please help.

If you can find out what kind of bios you have it would help us greatly. When you first start up your computer i need to know the first name you see. It probably appears on the first splash screen along with the computer companies logo. But you are going to have to go into bios and turn the fingerprint scanner on.

Or And i should have mentioned this first... You have to go into the control panel and double click on the system icon. Once in the system properties select the device manager. If it is turned on in bios it may be disabled in this list you should be seeing.
I run windows xp so i'm not sure of how to get to the device manager but it will be real close to the above directions. You are going to have to enable the device and reinstall the drivers

Have you tried to disable the device in the hardware manager and restart. Then enable the device again and reinstall the drivers yet again. If this does not work there is a problem with the drivers or the device. Since you just installed vista you may have to wait to get the updated drivers to run the fingerprint id. Did you ever have this working with vista?

I have lenovo 3000 N100 0768HBQ laptop, recently i installed windows Xp but my webcam is not detected, i downloaded liteon and chicony camera driver but problem is still there..in system tray i click on...

Hi smartmint909,

i see that you tried the chicony camera driver and it did not work, have you tried downloading the Bison Driver for your camera to see if it will work?

also you mentioned that the Fignerprint reader does not work as well, and you also mentioned that you installed XP on the machine. If i may ask what windows do you have originally on your machine before installing XP because on a Lenovo machine it is big NO to install a different version of Windows from what it Originally had for the reason that some device may not be detect even if you are in stalling the correct drivers.

The Lenovo Windows is an OEM Version and does not have the same files like the Microsoft windows some of the OEM files are altered for lenovo purposes only and if you will install a retail version of windows then you may need to update your system BIOS to be able to make some of the system device s work as normal.

try reinstalling the system back to the original windows that it had before, you will again be able to use the Fingerprint reader and the camera using the same driver you had before.

i hope this clears things out.

Have a nice day,

Fingerprint reader

Hi slipknot123,

it simply means that the software for your finger scanner requires the omnipass password modules before windows allows it to work with its identification and authentication modules.

if your computer came with a built-in finger print scanner, all the drivers and the necessary software for it should have been installed already, you may also check the recovery disk that was given you when got when you bought your computer, tcheck out their site at www.softexinc.com

Hope you have a nice day

Fingerprint reader software on lenovo 3000 n100

Hi jerseydeals,

I did a search and found an XP driver from the Lenovo site for your laptop's finger print reader, just follow the link below:

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-63663.html

Also, the reader is controlled by the OmniPass software, you can check it out from http://www.softexinc.com who developed it and find the version for XP though theere are other software to which you could use that reader as well. Hope this helps

Cheers and best regards,
